“Ma-madame!” Abigail shouted.
Madame Murtlock who heard that was like seeing a dejavu.
Abigail ran from the direction of the meeting room, whose corridor led to the basement. She saw Madame Murtlock and Susan looking back at Abigail with a look that was not good news.
(E-eh? What happen?) Abigail thought in surprise.
“Huh? What else, Abi?" Madame Murtlock slapped her forehead in exasperation.
Abigail quickly explained the meaning of her hasty attitude, to clear up any misunderstandings that had arisen from Susan and Madame Murtlock's expressions.
“Mr-Mr. Clovis…, Madame…. He wants to immediately ask me to become a nurse who takes care of his girlfriend!” Abigail said frantically but somewhat excitedly.
Madame Murtlock and Susan looked at each other for a moment. That look was suspicious. They seemed to have a hard time believing it.
"Abi, is that true?"
"Well, that can't be wrong, Madame Murtlock." Abigail showed her the contents of the crackle. Madame Murtlock and Susan shook their heads in surprise.
So…
They were certainly intrigued by the bottle and asked Abigail to share it later, but right now there were things way up above to take priority.
"Maybe we could use that, Madame?" Susan argued.
"Let's meet Mr. Clovis." Madame Murtlock did not waste the moment, together with Susan they headed for room number 33.
Meanwhile Abigail…
“Eh? What is really happen?"
Abigail who was like a ‘chipmunk looking around for nuts’ resignedly followed the two of them.

Three nurses are now coming to Mr. Clovis room. The man was still the same with his smiling face that never faded. The first time whoever meet him, they may get the impression that this person has a “Friendly” and “Cheerful” personality.
However…
In time, for example Madame Murtlock and Susan, would think that Mr. Clovis has the face of a robot. The value changes drastically, “Freak person” or “Awkward smile”
“Yuhuu~” Mr. Clovis raised his arm in greeting. “My, my, are we having a party so early in the morning?”
Susan tried to make the most alluring and beautiful expression possible on Mr. Clovis, while Madame Murtlock tried to spread a smile on her face.
"Ah, here Mr. Clovis. I actually just wanted to say that Miss Abigail will be put in charge of the downstairs (basement) as of today." Madame Murtlock patted Abigail on the shoulder. "Miss Abigail will automatically take on the previous nurse's responsibilities from today."
(Eh… Todayyyy!?) Abigail's eyes glanced slowly over to Madame Murtlock.
“Hm… I didn't expect it to be that fast. But that obviously is a great news!” added Mr. Clovis nodded slightly and glanced right at Madame Murtlock's two hands which were playing with his fingers. “Hmm… yes, yes, yes…. Anything else, Madame?"
"Or maybe you are Susan?" Mr. Clovis then turned to Susan.
"You know me Mr. Handsome~! What if-"
"You see…." Madame Murlock, who knew Susan better than anyone else, interrupted immediately before the sly, flirty-looking woman babbled on unnecessary things.
"You see, Mr. Clovis…,"
“Julia Chalice…. Poor woman….” Mr. Clovis lover, who always seemed to be knitting something, opened her mouth.
“Miss Verlette….” replied Madame Murtlock. The three nurses immediately turned their eyes to the woman called Verlette. Susan went straight to her.
"Hello, sweetheart! What are you doing?" Susan forced a smile. She looked down at the woman.
“…..” But Verlette just kept quiet.
"Hey, hey, isn't that okay for you to ignore me?" Susan's head drew closer to the center of Verlette's gaze.
Verlette immediately looked the other way, and Susan kept trying hard to keep them looking at each other.
“Mr. Clovis, shouldn't that stop?” Abigail commented.
“Ah, Susan is unique. My dearest is just… embarrassed by Susan's outspoken behavior." The dapper man scratched his head.
"So… Miss Chalice huh?" added Mr. Clovis was a bit reluctant, turning to Madame Murtlock. "I don't have a problem as long as that woman doesn't hurt my dearest…."
Madame Murtlock explained a few brief things about Julia Chalice. That, the main thing is that for the time being Julia Chalice is not given any personal questions first.
"Sure, I'll give a medical sample from the psychiatrist on Julia Chalice at a routine checkup if it's necessary…."
Mr. Clovis was silent for a moment considering the decision while looking at his lover. His face became very serious with flat lips rather than a wide "u". Abigail thought that Mr. Clovis Even though always looked calm, it turned out that this dapper man could still be worried about something. What's more, Mr. Clovis seemed to know something more.
Meanwhile…
Verlette let out a breath of exasperation. She gave up on Susan's ridiculous actions.
"Good…. What do you… want, Susan?”
Susan just kept silent while looking at Verlette.
So…
Verlette put down her two sticks. Her two fingers were now pinching her cheeks and making silly faces at Susan. She played with Susan's face.
“Hwo, hwo? you likeuw dow thawt?” said Susan whose cheeks were stretched out.
"Not really... because you're blocking my work…."
"You thinwk itw's workuw?"
Verlette said nothing. Instead of replying she puffed Susan's cheeks out of slight annoyance.
“Madame Murtlock…. So… when was that Chalice woman….?” asked Verlette suddenly, still playing with Susan's face. Now Susan lay her head on the Verlette bed, substituting the two knitting sticks.
"Ah, about tomorrow morning, Miss Verlette." Madame Murtlock stepped closer. "You don't mind, Miss Verlette?"
The black-haired woman turned her head slowly. Behind the black hair that parted in half between her forehead, red eyes flashed.
"Maybe? After all, I… can't read the future?”
Madame Murtlock got a little goosebumps looking at Verlette's face. Her face is very charming and looks like a sleeping beauty doll. The only thing is Madame Murtlock didn't know the meaning of her straight face. Is the woman happy? Or is it the other way around? Does the woman agree? Or is it the other way around? And…
Also what was meant by 'can't read the future' as that woman just now and always said, thought Madame Murtlock. After all, it had been Madame Murtlock who had been appointed to look after Verlette a year earlier.
Of course ... with all her oddities.
“Ahem…. Regarding medical samples, Madame Murtlock,"
“Yes, Mr. Clovis?” Madame Murtlock averted her eyes.
“Now then, that is too troublesome. Instead, the woman must be based on the direction of our control. Of course that wouldn't be against the rules of this place. She is still getting treatment and medical care as usual and anything else! Including her handcuffs?”
"As usual, Mr Clovis?"
Mr. Clovis returned with his usual smiling face and demeanor. “As usual,”
"Okay, Mr. Clovis, I'll be back with Abigail in a minute to update some of the nurses. This includes taking care of several administrative matters for this replacement and transfer of responsibility. The process only takes 15 minutes, while Abigail will focus on taking care of the other two rooms including room number 33 after lunch. Do you mind?"
"I'm waiting for the results, thank you!"
After that, Madame Murtlock allowed Verlette to borrow Susan for a while. Susan protested to Madame Murtlock. Except that Susan's chatter was bouncing off Madame Murtlock's ears.
Now Abigail and Madame Murtlock came out of that place. They walked back through the dimly lit hallway and greeted several of the nurses and patients they handled. Abigail was a little horrified by one of the patients Siofra had brought in, one of the nurses basement besides Penny, Susan and one other.
The woman that Siofra brought giggled like a ghost laugh in movies. That, made Abigail's anxiety increase.
Then Madame Murtlock engaged her in small talk.
“The basement floor is actually not much different from the other floors. All patients in this place do not have special placements and rooms. Well, each room is normally filled with two people, "
"Y-yes I think so…," Abigail said unsure.
“I understand that you can definitely get through this. You've even handled Mr. Torento, right? The man even needs patience and special handling, "
"Only three months, Madame,"
"Don't be so modest! A quarter of a year is not a short amount of time when taking care of a man whose memory resets every month. Well, even though… in the end our side handed over the yellow baton to another hospital,”
Abigail gave a small nod. It boosted her confidence a little.
"You know what, Abi? Being a nurse in this place needs to know everything. But the most important thing is to be patient and persevere. So, knowing the characteristics of each patient is a plus….”
Abigail listened to Madame Murtlock talk the way she had when she was the new nurse. However, she never stopped getting tired of listening to it.
“Mr. Clovis giving you that expensive gift was a sign that he suited you and chose you as a nurse.” Madame Murtlock pointed at the rustle Abigail had brought.
“Ah, that's right, Madame. I've always been curious about one thing…”
"What is it, Abi?"
"About Mr. Clovis. Why does he know my name even though we haven't met yet? Even her lover Miss Verlette had a good guess about Julia Chalice? Isn't that a bit odd to say it's a coincidence?”
Now they climbed the stairs and stepped on the ground floor. Near outside the meeting room, Madame Murtlock stopped for a moment.
"About that… Abi. Excludes 'everything' you need to know,"
“Hmm? Why is that?"
Madame Murtlock turned around in a whisper.
“In this world… there are many things that need to be known. And only one that musn’t…..”
