His eyes being forced to be close by a strong wind against his face, Ryder tried to push through to open it even a little. He tried to force his eyes to open with his hands, but that was not the only thing of concerned. He runs his mind through his body, he couldn’t move; not without forcing his arms to budge. The strong wind also crashed against his whole body, with no sign of stopping. But then, he remembers the googles given to him. He nervously pushes his arms towards his jeans, trying to grab the goggles in his pocket; he loosens his legs for the pocket to be more open. At last, he grabs the goggles; but the wind made it shake frantically. He grips it with all of his might and then attempts to place it over his head to wear it.

The sling of the goggles slips over his head and under his ears, placing the attached goggles on his eyes. Finally, he can see; but after that, he wished he didn’t. As his vision slowly come back, he sees bits and pieces of blurry green and blue, and after everything came back onto view; his mouth gaped and then closed shut immediately after seeing the shocking view. A vast green forest came into his horizons, with wide rivers and large lakes scattered throughout; and a big mountain standing mighty up east; but there was little time for sightseeing.

He struggled to keep his balance in the air, but the strong wind and his fast fall turned him into the opposite. There was nothing he could do. The strong winds crashing against his body, making him turn sideways and frontwards; his stomach almost gave up, but that was the least of his concerns. He draws closer to the ground, so close as to see the very tips of the trees. Falling closer and closer to the very end; he tried to pray but the wind said the opposite. With nothing else left to do, he shifts his arms onto his chest, then closes his eyes as he faces his back to the ground; waiting for the dirt to heat his skull and paint it red. He just waited, nothing to bother him anymore while he shut his eyes and think of memories never forgotten. Yet, he didn’t fall to his doom; he did fall, but not quite as he thought.

The winds stopped whistling in his ear, it even stopped crashing down against his body; he thought he was dead. But something gentle touched his back, a little spiky but soft. Minutes pass and his eyes were still closed, resisting the urge to open him; he didn’t want to see what place he ended being in after his demise. Then, a ray of light shined upon his head; the darkness his eye gave him turned red, annoyed him enough for them to open. His eyes met a shining light from the sun, coming from gaps on what seemed to be tree leaves and branches. He moves his body upright, frantically looking around; only to see trees, grass, mushroom, and some deer looking at him at the distance.

“H-h-how is this possible?!” he panicked, rubbing his hair and eyes; he stands up from his landing spot, breathing heavily and dusting his clothes off of leaves and dirt.

He looks around again, observing the forest that surrounded him. He shifts his eyes to his hands, seeing them shivering; he decided to rest his hands some more before beginning to explore the forest; walking northeast of where he landed. There were no visible paths, so he walks towards the most open area he could find and walk there. He walks carefully through the patches of grass and bushes; under the shade of large trees with small bugs all over them.

“Why… Am I here?” he asks himself as steps on rocks and small shrubs.

A few minutes pass, and his stomach began to grumble; he hasn’t eaten in how many days, maybe because of the sudden pressure of the game that made him forget for a moment. He lowers his head to his stomach, moving his right hand to touch it; then, he turns his eyes to the trees. He looks up to the branches, and in his relief, he saw apples and other fruits; guavas and mango. He lowers his head to look at his hands, they were now calm and still. He goes up to the apple tree, and places his left hand on a gap of the wood while his right hand grabbed a large branch attached to the tree. He begins to climb fast, wanting an apple to be in his grasp.

At last, he sits on a branch below the hanging fruits, he quickly snatches one of them and begins to chop it down to its seed. He gets another after another, until the very ground is filled up by a pile of eaten apples. But as he was eating, his head shifts to the east; seeing the sun through the gaps of leaves. In Ryder’s mind, it was moving faster than usual. But he quickly dismisses the thought and immediately grabs a few apples to bring with him through the forest. He carefully climbs down and lands on the seeds, crushing it as he steps away from the apple tree while he eats.

An hour passes and he finishes the apples he brought with him before he continued his walk. Stepping on shrubs through the forest as he throws away the eaten apples. Then accidentally he trips on a root, falling forward pass a tree and onto a patch of grass; surprisingly, there was little dirt on his hands as he lifts them. He moves his head up while he was down, and saw that he stumbled upon a clearing — no trees and shrubs, just grass and a few deer grazing. Piecing everything together, he hurriedly stands up and shoots his eyes above; staring at the sky, looking for the place where he fell. But in his shock, there were only clouds.

He rubs his eyes as hard as he can then looks back at the sky, hurting his neck. And again, there were only clouds flouting in the blue sky. The place where they stood before they fell, were nowhere to be seen. From the bizarre, his hearts start to aggressively beat; his lungs pulsing with its beat. His head kept repeating the thought like a broken record: How is that possible?! How is that possible? How… is that possible?

He grips his hair and squeezes them hard no matter how thin they were, trying to take in the anomaly. But then, a sound came from the forest; making the birds fly away and chirp loudly. A noise like a deep roar, made Ryder raise his head and look at the fleeing birds as they rustle the trees. But he soon found out, it was wasn’t the birds rustling. Not only the leaves, but the trees themselves moved; going from either side. And it was waving towards him. The creature that roared was heading towards him, crashing away the trees while Ryder gazed at their fall.

A growling sound came into ear; his chest pumping out. Ryder steps backwards slowly, but he trips on a rock making him fall down on his back. Grunting in pain, but not for long; the wave of falling trees came near him; the growling now turned into a snarl. Ryder quickly stands up and runs behind him through the forest, ignoring the broken twigs under his shoes and the branches hitting his face as he goes. After a minute of going through the forest, the falling of trees stop. But then it began again; it must be in the part he is in. It was chasing him. He continued to run; breathing tirelessly as he swerves through the trees. The sky darkens; the sun arrived at its set. He almost couldn’t see anymore, but he kept running.

He trips, falls, and gets back up again and again. His lungs tired of breathing intensely; but he kept running. Soon after, he stops at an oak tree; placing his left hand against the tree while his other held the side of right side of his stomach. He takes a quick breather before the growling came closer again. He looks back and saw the wave still falling towards him. Without even looking, he steps forwards hurryingly; but too quickly. He falls forward on his face, but luckily, he fell on a river. His face beneath the water, he quickly takes it out and catches his breath. He gets out of the river while stumbling; continuing to run through. With his clothes and hair wet, many twigs and leaves stick on him like he was a walking glue. Blinding by a leaf, he stumbles and falls down on a hill; hitting every stick and dirt while he rolled.

He stayed down after he stopped rolling. The sound of leaves cracking as his body inches a little, then it cracked completely. He stands up grunting, slowly moving his legs to stand upright and his hands getting dusted off of twigs. He inhales for a bit, moving his hair back before looking back at the hill. The sound of falling trees finally stopped, and the growling no longer whispered. He sighs at the relief, before moving deeper into the forest; he arrived at the part of the forest, where both apple and banana trees stood high; and in the middle, a large acacia tree. He walks towards the big tree and sits under it; his back against the wood. He lifts his head and takes a deep breathing; he touches his cheek and sees a bit of blood on his finger.

While he looks at the leaves above, the daylight slowly withered away. The day is almost done, he had to find shelter and a fire. He looks around his surroundings and sees a bunch of twigs and fallen leaves scattered on the ground. He takes a deep breath and stands up; touching the twigs and leaves to see if they were dry before collecting them. Using his feet, he sweeps away the leaves under the tree and places everything he collected on the very middle, making a kindling. After placing more into the pile, he grabs two rocks on the ground; going down on one knee in front of the kindling. He starts smashing them together to create a spark for a fire. An hour later, the rocks have not yet sparked; and sun finally went down, making way for the moon to take the sky. With little light left, he tries one more time; this time, he positions the rocks farther away before crashing them into one final smash. A spark finally lit a twig, Ryder quickly grabs a branch beside him then kindles the fire until it starts a real fire.

Ryder spent his time cuddling beside the fire, warming his hands and feet beside its flame. And while warming up, he grabs a bowl of water from a nearby river; boiling it using the fire. After a while of sitting on the fire, Ryder grabs the bowl and lets it cool; before drinking half of the bowl made of bark and a broken branch. Daylight finally disappeared, with only moonlight to replace it. Critters started to make noise: Crickets, frogs, and the like. The moon made Ryder yawn and rub his eyes, but he didn’t have bed, not yet.

He turns his eye onto the banana trees and its wide leaves. He walks away from the fire towards the trees, jumping and grabbing a few leaves down with him; six to be exact. He goes back to the fire, laying down three of the leaves beside the fire; with enough space to keep it from burning. He rolls one leaf to turn it into some sort of pillow, hard but acceptable comfort. And the last two were made into blankets, laying over both of his shoulders as he sits down beside the fire. It wasn’t perfect, but it was decent; besides, he is used to this.

After gazing, his eyes turned heavy; his mouth letting out a wide yawn. He lays down his leaf bed and places his lead blanked over him, but before he could sleep; he closes his eyes to pray, “May God protect my family”
