"I love you" Collin murmured feeling Abby get out of bed.
"I love you too sleepyhead" She teased
"Do you have to work today?" Colling groaned
"You know as well as I do that I need to pick up all the shifts I can get"
"I know I know, you're an angel for it" Abby smiled and started getting ready for her job at Mcdonalds. Collin aimlessly scrolled through the internet for an hour or so before finally getting up and starting his day. He picked up the crutches from beside his bedside table and hobbled into the kitchen, he broke his leg on a work site the week before, tripped over a pile of bricks and fell into a ditch, and since his job is refusing to pay for his sick leave all the financial burden to pay for the apartment and groceries and bills and the never-ending list of needs was moved onto Abby. Collin grabbed some breakfast, while he ate his meal he planned out the day ahead and decided to walk to the local library after tidying the apartment.
It was 1 pm when Collin finally finished cleaning the apartment, he even left a stew simmering on the hob. He hobbled out the door and into an elevator, he hobbled further into the city, and after 10 painful minutes of limping, he finally reached the library and began to browse the shelves. He drifted from history to fiction before looking through biographies and cookbooks. Finally, he arrived at the non-fiction section after picking up a cookbook, he glanced across the books but was drawn to a modest leather-bound tome with no name on the spine, curious Collin grabbed the book and looked at the cover 'How to Make a Deal with the Devil' he smiled to himself, someone must've placed it there as a joke, still, he was curious about the contents of the tome, so he placed it on top of his cookbook and brought both to the librarian, after getting them checked out he put them both in his bag and began the trek back home.
When he arrived home Collin checked on the stew and sat down on the couch and began to flick through the demon book, he scanned through the pages before settling on a possession ritual."
"Why not" Collin muttered reading over the ritual "It's just a bit of fun" He gathered some candles and drew a pentagram in crayon he then sat in the middle and began reciting from the book.
"Lord satan, I offer this body as your vessel, I allow you to take full control, here my pleas" After a few seconds without any flashes or maniacal laughter Collin decided to try another one, he flicked through the pages once again he settled on a ritual to sell your soul for Mammon's wealth, he decided to give it a shot and began to rearrange to candles and edited the pentagram. He once again sat in the middle and recited from the book once more.
"Lord Mommon, I offer you, my eternal soul, in the afterlife in return for your wealth in this mortal coil, please accept this offer." Once again he waited for a flash of light or some other sign that he was heard but nothing happened.
"This must be fake" Collin murmured cleaning up the pentagram and blowing out the candles.

About an hour later Abby finally returned home, it looked as if she had gone through hell and back but she was beaming.
"What's up?" Collin questioned.
"WE'RE RICH!"
"Wait what?"
"I WON THE LOTTO, WE ARE RICH!" Collin ran up to his wife and squeezed her into a hug and they danced around their apartment laughing and smiling. Eventually, they broke apart and Collin began the dish up the stew.
"What a coincidence that the same day I ask for Mommon's wealth you win the lotto" he laughed, but he quickly stopped when he saw Abby's face.
"What did you say?"
"That it's a coincidence that the same day I asked for Mommon's wealth you won the lotto. Why?"
"How did you get the ritual?" She asked panic rising in her voice.
"I found it in the library. Why?"
"No, no no no NO, I knew they'd come after me but not like this, show me the book, no, wait, have you done any other rituals?"
"I did a possession ritual but it's fake, right? Right?"
"Who did you do it on?" She asked quietly, already knowing the answer.
"Myself" We stared at each other "But it's fake right, it's just a coinc-" Cllin suddenly stopped. He couldn't move. Couldn't speak. It felt as if he was a Minifigure glued down, no matter what he did he couldn't move. Then he felt something begin to climb up his body, taking him for its own, trapping Collin behind his own eyes.
"Hello paladin" Collin was shocked by the voice, it wasn't his own, it was one that was smug and self-assured.
"Hello, Satan" Abby replied, surprisingly calm. "Is there any chance of me getting my husband back?"
"You're smart, you know the answer"
"I do" She muttered, materialising a sword and full plate armour out of thin air. He felt himself smile and materials a sword made of flame in a similar fashion. Pain rocketed through him, the flame boiled his blood and melted his skin, if he had any control over his body he probably would've collapsed in agony.
"You know what you have to do." The voice said
"I do, "Abby said before launching herself at him, she and the voice traded blows dancing around the apartment, fires sprouting up around the apartment. Although the voice was strong Collin could sense that they weren't at full strength. Eventually, Abby managed to sneak a blow in, skewering him through the stomach, sensing imminent defeat the voice relinquished control of his body. Collin collapsed in a mixture of stew, blood and fire. He stared at the ceiling feeling blood pulse from the wound in his abdomen. The flames crowning him the king of stupidity as they began the eat at his hair. Abby muttered something under her breath extinguishing the flames with an angry hiss, before rushing towards him and crouching by his side.
"I'm so sorry Collin, I should've told you, warned you but I-"
"It's fine, you thought you were doing good"
"But if you had just known"
"Then something else would've happened, it's fine"
"Let's get you to the hospital, they might help." Collin looked from the gaping wound in his stomach to his charred arm.
"I'd rather spend my last few minutes with you" He muttered, feeling himself slipping into the void.
"Don't think like that, you can't think like that."269Please respect copyright.PENANAJZzehqMwIm
"What's done is done" He felt the void grasping at him, pulling at him. Abby's cries falling away as he drifted into death's hands
