Hello Dwellers,
Finally, the contest is over and the winners have been chosen. It took me so long to write the closing remarks do to me being distracted by my project. Anyways, I did read each story like 3-4 times and had the intro pulled up in another tab just to check if the stories including everything. If you included anything in the comment section, I will not see it until the results are in.
All the stories were great and the 3 biggest factors in choosing everything was the main rules, the story requirements, and the creative methods that were used when the story was written, which I'm sure the writers didn't even notice they included some of them.
The first entry was really poetic, well-written, and very descriptive which earned it third place. It was submitted really early and within that extra time, a little more could've been added to it, but overall it did wonderfully.172Please respect copyright.PENANAkCgtb0NYSv
The second entry got second place, and it was a close first. There was a lot of time put into this one, and I don't know if it was intentional, but it did seem a little creepy at the end and I wasn't expecting it. The story felt like it could've been shortened a little more in a few spots, but other than that, it was great.
The third entry was close to third, and I thought the disappearing bedroom was pretty funny. The ending could've been improved by making it more dream-like or have some silly plot twist. I liked it, and it made it difficult to choose a third place.
The fourth entry got deleted and so it got last place. I don't know who made it, but let's just ignore it.
The fifth entry I'm pretty sure was a copy and paste, because I feel like I read it somewhere on this site before, and I'm sorry if that's wrong, that wasn't the reason it got a low ranking though, and I guess the good news is that it didn't come last. It was fun to read because I do like fantasy stories, but it really feel like it had nothing to do with dream worlds. It missed one of the requirements, but I'll just let it slide. Like I said, it was a good story, but it didn't feel like it had to do with dreams.
The final entry managed to get first place. It did feel a bit rushed and had a few spelling errors, but it was probably posted at the last minute which I'll forgive it for that, considering most of the other entries were as well. It was a creative move to have the dream world written within a story... within a story. The ending was... kind of dark, but I guess since the darker side took place outside of the story... I think, I couldn't really be certain that it was going against the main theme of the contest so I just ignored it.
As I said, all the stories were good. I'll probably do a part two at some point in the future, but I am currently too busy at the moment. Hopefully, all the readers and writers had fun as well.
