The world slowly fades in. I feel drowsy and my whole body feels tired. I slowly open my eyes to see the ceiling of the bunker. Holy shit, I'm...I'm alive...
I move my eyes downward and see a coat that I don't entirely recognize wrapped around me. I also notice that I'm in my hammock, and I feel so...warm and cozy. How did this happen? I should've suffocated in the storm outside, I shouldn't be here right now, but I am.
I swivel my head to my left and get my answer. The reason why I'm still alive is...the little perv. Ugh, I want to dislike this guy, I want a reason to force him out of here! But instead, I'm getting reasons to keep him here. I glare at them, but they seem to be asleep. Now that I think about it, I haven't gotten a good look at them yet. When I took them in, the storm had really blurred my view, and I didn't take much time to look at them while I locked them up since I was afraid they would wake up at any second.
The little perv is sitting on my wooden chair, pointing towards me. They're asleep, resting on their head on their arm. They have long, straight, brown hair, with semi-pale, soft skin. I believe they're probably a guy, because of the shape of their torso and their lack of...y'know..., but they definitely don't give off a "guy vibe", but also not one of a girl, either. They seem to be more...in between. They're a little bit shorter than most guys, about five foot eight-ish would be my best guess. They have a dark purple hoodie with black sweats, as well as a necklace that seems to be of a little black cat, hanging off of a broom.
I perk up a little as I recognize what it's from. It's the cat from this movie I once saw on an abandoned mobile video player a year or so ago, which had been stolen not long after I watched the movie I believe. I couldn't understand the movie, because the version downloaded on the video player was in French, I believe, but I was able to sort of grasp the plot. It was a sweet movie about this young witch who travels and explores the world. She had a black cat with her who she could talk to. It was really fun, even though I couldn't understand it. It was the first movie I had seen since I was ten or so, quite a bit before being stranded on this dreadful planet. I smiled softly, happy to have seen a relic of something I adored.
My eyes were lost gazing at the boy, and I felt something on my face. I slowly raised a hand up to gently feel my cheeks, and I felt...warmth..? N-no, no, this guy's just trouble. I'm going to send them out as soon as I can, I can't risk becoming attached to them. The little perv stirs from their sleep, and I quickly snap my head back to the position it was in when I woke up and closed my eyes. I try to stuff my hand back under the coat, but the sudden movement causes me to become off-balance, the hammock turning over. I don't have enough energy to react, and all I can do is shout in surprise. Right before I hit the ground, I hear a soft voice speak to me. "Don't worry, I gotcha." I look up and become face to face with the perv, and I quickly roll out of their arms onto the floor.
"I didn't need your help, thank you very much..!" I scoff, trying to regain my composure. I attempt to stand up, but my knees give out below me, and I crumble to the floor onto all fours. "H-hey, take it easy! Your body inhaled a lot of what I'd assume to be toxins when you were outside. You're very weak." The perv offered me their hand, which I happily denied. They continued, "And, you did sort of need my help earlier... If I do recall correctly, you were crying for help out there-" I quickly cut him off, my face blushing. "C-can it. You were just repaying me for saving you. It wasn't help at all, just giving me what you owe." I successfully stood up this time, my legs still wobbly. I feel...really weak, but I can't let that show, not to someone who--whether I like it or not--has the upper hand in this situation, completely able to dispose of me and take my belongings. I need to seem...strong...
"If you insist..." The perv scratches his arm, not seeming fully convinced. They try to change the subject by introducing themself. "A-anyway, my name is Soren. May I ask what yours is?," they asked, their voice undeniably soft. I scoff and look at them smugly. "Pfft, you really think I'll just give out my name to a stranger? I've got no reason to trust you." "W-well, I did save you from the storm instead of leaving you to die so I could keep all of this stuff to myself...," Soren replied, tilting their head. Oooh, this guy really gets on my nerves. "Again, that was just repaying me for what I did for you! Jesus.." I cross my arms, looking away.
"Whatever you say, I suppose...but please, just get back in bed. You're really sick right now..." Soren pleads, like they'll be able to get me to do what they say. "Sick? Me? I'm completely fine. Watch-" I try to prove myself by walking to the door and back, but midway through I stumble. I manage to keep my balance and continue to walk. I reach the door, looking back for a second to make sure Soren is watching, and start to travel back. I stumble again, but this time I'm unable to stay standing. I fall to the floor, absorbing the fall with my arms. I grumble, unwilling to accept the reality of my condition.
Soren sighs, closing his eyes. "Now will you accept that you aren't well?," they say, their hand on their face. I don't say anything for a moment, but finally I realize that I've been beat. "Ugh, fine, I'll rest." I slowly walk back to the hammock and stumble again. Soren jumps forward, attempting to catch me, but I dodge them and manage to keep my balance. I climbed back into the hammock, which they did admittedly prepare rather well...but it could be much better; the heated can is rather uncomfortable.
Soren walks to the table of supplies, bringing back a water bottle. "Here, drink this. It'll help." I stare at him like he's got three eyes. "Are you crazy?! That's an entirely full bottle of water! To survive here, you've gotta ration your supplies wisely, and you're suggesting I waste an entire bottle of fresh water?!" Soren recoils at my outburst, and it seems that his kind attitude is beginning to break, as they argue back. "You're sick! You won't get better unless you properly take care of yourself!!" They stop themself, take a deep breath to calm their temper, and continue. "I'm not a doctor or anything, but from what I know your liver takes care of breaking down toxins that enter your body. You ingested a lot of toxic stuff, so your liver is working overtime trying to keep up right now. To keep your liver healthy, you need to drink water, and since your liver is working very hard right now, you've got to drink extra. Now drink, please." They open the lid of the bottle and hand it to me, their eyes pleading. I realize I can't win this argument and gingerly snatch the bottle from them, taking huge swigs of water.
The cold water is so refreshing, and I realized that the last time I had actual water instead of soda--which is much more common to find here--was at least a month ago, and the last time I was able to drink this much water without worrying about rationing was...I couldn't even remember. My face relaxed as I chugged the entire bottle down, every cell in my body feeling like they were expanding, soaking up every drop of water they could. When I'm finished, I lower the bottle from my lips, my body still begging for more. I tell my body to can it and appreciate what it just got, letting the bottle drop to the floor as fatigue begins to set in, now that my body has the right amount of reserves to start to heal.
"See? I was right, wasn't I?," Soren's soft voice spoke, their words slightly muffled as my body started to prepare for a session of rest to heal. As much as I didn't want to, I had to admit they were right. I already feel much, much better. I think I'm...I think I'm going to go to bed...21Please respect copyright.PENANAqyLUtgaCcs
