Now we know the tale of the beautiful Nightingale
With a song so sweet to compensate for its’ appearance.
It resides in the forests in the beginning of the tale822Please respect copyright.PENANAodXSkVQDnQ
Singing its’ songs to the tune of nature with no interference.

The king heard the serenity one day from the castle windows,
Fell in love with the voice of the beautiful Nightingale.
He ordered his men immediately to the forests of the Willows
To bring back the source of the mystery for him to unveil.

The king’s men approached the forests and stood in awe
Of a small little bird perched high among the branches of the trees.
It continued its’ song with delight and with not a single flaw
As it looked out to the sun setting over the seas.

One soldier asked, “How can something so powerful come from something so frail?”
“Do not judge by outward appearance.” Replied the small bird.
“Please come back to the castle with us beautiful Nightingale,
The king wishes to see the object of serenity he has heard.”

The Nightingale agreed and followed them back to the kingdom
And perched itself on a golden branch before the king.
The king was ecstatic, “My dear Nightingale filled with wisdom,
Would you be so kind as to grant an old man’s wish and sing.”

The Nightingale bowed it’s head and began to sing of wonder
That hushed the throne room instantly as it started.
The king sat back to enjoy the Nightingale’s splendor
And realized from the Nightingale he could not be parted.

“Dear Little Nightingale please stay with me,
Your voice is so precious it could be worth more than gold.”
The beautiful Nightingale smiled slightly,
“My king you flatter me, but I am not willing to be sold.”

The king was enraged for not getting his way
And ordered his men to lock the Nightingale in a cage.
“You shall sing for me everyday!”
And stormed off in a rage.

The Nightingale sat in silence everyday despite the king,
Ignoring all his begging and threats.
The bird hated not being able to sing,
But would rather take death with no regrets.

The king’s men grew weary as the old man grew mad,
And decided it was time to end this all.
They had the metal smith tinker something the king had,
A mechanical nightingale with an exact call.

The king was delighted at his shining new present
And ordered that the Nightingale be released.
Even though the Nightingale had been freedom sent,
It was none too pleased.

Now the original story tells of the king
Who then played the mechanical bird until broke.
Who then asked the original Nightingale to sing
To prevent his death every night before he woke.

The twist comes when the Nightingale came back for revenge,
To peck out the jewels in the king’s new toy.
An act to take on its own ways to avenge
It’s torture at the expense of the king’s joy.

The Nightingale then sang sweet into Death’s ear
And asked for a favour.
It asked that Death cloud the king with fear,
To make him feel as if it would soon be over.

It then awaited the king’s summoning,
To hear the rumours of the king’s illness.
Word finally came that requested one final time to sing
For the king that felt his coming stillness.

The Nightingale flew in through the bedroom window
And settled on the bed post facing the king.
“Please accept my apology little bird of the Willow.”
The Nightingale shed a tear and began to sing.

The song was filled with so many sorrows
That even Death felt sorry for the little bird.
It promised to give the king more tomorrows
And made sure he was completely cured.

The beautiful Nightingale would never give up its’ song
But did not dare put itself in Harm’s way again.
So it would sing for anyone who came along,
But staying away from the human domain.822Please respect copyright.PENANAw5pjY0vRqO
