Elisa returned to her seat cautiously, and stared at Naira who had just put her on stage. Before Elisa could talk to Naira, the tall man with beard and eyeglass pointed his fingers to Naira’s direction. “The student who is sitting beside the girl who just won a prize, can you answer the following questions?” The tall man coughed and continued with a solemn voice “What spices do we use the most in our daily cooking?”
Naira scratched her hair and said reluctantly “Anise.” The tall man shook his head and said with a solemn voice “The right answer is Laurel, Parsley and Tarragon. Elisa pursed her lip and sniggered. “Now, we are going to make an important announcement.” The tall man gazed at Ms. Anne, motioned her to turn on the projection. Twenty internationally recognized knives showed up on the screen. Students opened their eyes widely and measured the difference between those knives with their hands. The classroom became lively and bustling, as most of them were talking about the high price of those knives. The tall man with beard and eyeglass put his hands on the podium’s table, made a little adjustment to the microphone, then spoke up with a vibrant and sonorous voice: “as you can see, these are expensive knives and they are recognized internationally. I am here to tell you that if any of you get the chance to enter the top 20 in the ranking score by graduation, you will have the possibility of receiving those high-quality knives."
