The sight in front of Avarice was truly a sight he wasn't expecting to see. In the dark room, there was a bed decorated with pretty red curtains that hung loosely from above it. Aside from a small dresser and the bed, there wasn't much else in there. Save for the two figures on the bed producing whispery moans of pleasure. Once the figure on top heard the door swing open, he bolted up, quickly gathering his things and pushing past Avarice, running down the hall half-naked. Avarice had his hands over his beat red face.
"I'm so...uh... I'm so sorry!" He stammered.
The dissatisfied grunts of another man caused Avarice to take a peak from between his pale fingers. A slim man lay disheveled, his silky robe was partly torn off and hung around his arms, exposing his body. The way his dark brown hair fell against his freckled skin gave him somewhat of a feminine appearance at first glance, but the cheeky look in his multicoloured eyes held no such feminine charms.
"It's fine...in fact, I'd say it was impeccable timing. I was just starting to get bored of him." The mischievous tone of the man's airy voice sunk deep into the recesses of Avarice's mind. It was seemingly kind but Avarice could tell that hidden behind that thin mask of kindness lay something else entirely.
"I was just–ah! I mean...I...I was just..." Avarice straightened up and cleared his throat, yet he still couldn't bring himself to make eye contact. He stepped into the room and stood as calmly as he could. "I was chasing a thief. He stole an important belonging of mine."
The man on the bed moved to get up, but when he did, he stumbled forward and ended up falling onto the Prince. They tumbled to the ground with an audible "oof." Avarice could feel the man wrap his arms around him for a brief moment and turned away from him out of embarrassment. The man pushed himself off of Avarice's lap but made no effort to stand up again. He stayed cross-legged on the floor.
"Sorry! My hips are a little achy!" He laughed.
Avarice felt his face heat up profusely. He cleared his throat and resumed talking. "It's fine. I saw a thief come in here and I followed him in without thinking. Have you seen my pouch? It's light blue with gold trimming."
The man looked down at Avarice's waist and pointed to him. "Isn't that it?"
Avarice looked down at his belt to see the pouch neatly tied to it as though it had never left his side to being with. His eyes widened in confusion.
"B-But...I could have sworn that—"
"Nobody ran into this room except for you," the man interrupted.
Avarice quickly stood up and put some distance between the man and himself. Something was definitely wrong and the unreadable look in the man's eyes made his suspicion grow even more. On the right, a violet eye reflected his increasingly perplexed expression like a mirror and on the left, a jade eye mocked his confusion with a vibrant glimmer.
"I...uh...excuse me, I think I should leave. Sorry again." Avarice hastily excused himself and ran out of the building and back to the base, leaving the man by himself, or so he thought.
When Avarice left, the man broke out in a fit of laughter. He propped himself on his elbow, which rested on the bed behind him and threw his other hand over his knee as he sat sprawled off on the floor. Another figure approached from a dark corner of the room, dressed in a black cloak.
"Did you get what you wanted young master?" Asked the figure.
The man's laughter faded out as he reached into his robe, pulling out a little amulet.
"Ah, Hyde, It seems that you were right. He isn't from here. Looks like the little kitten is a prince." The man twirled the amulet between his fingers, admiring the Solarian crest that was carved onto it.
"Isn't that the crest of the Dragon Queen? I hear her empire is a real force to be reckoned with. At least that's what I gathered from our soldiers fending off the intruders in the grasslands. They were worried that if she joined the search for our village then they'd stand no chance. Looks like she's finally found it. What do we do now young master?" Asked Hyde.
The man laughed. "Nothing yet. The little prince might be wearing our clothes but anyone with eyes can tell he's not from here. Even if he runs back home I can always use this as an excuse to run into him again," he said, holding up the amulet.

The moon had cast its shadow over Solaria, yet there were few in the palace that still stirred. Sin for one, was drinking himself into oblivion with his trusty companion Dez. Their drunken laughs and slurred chatter floated in the dimness of his chambers.
"I'm not...even mad...I am soooo happy...for him..." Sin laughed, sinking into his bed. The golden cup slid from his hand to plunk pitifully on the ground next to him.
Dez was on the other end of the bed, her feet towards Sin's head. "Your juss sayin' that! Ya know ya missed him!" She mumbled.
Sin scoffed. "Shut it! I don wanna hear that from sum...sum drunk fool!"
Dez punched his leg. "I'm not drunk! I'm peerely sober in my mind is sober!" She hollered incoherently.
A long, sleepy sigh escaped Sin's lips. He squinted at her. She seemed to be getting up or at least trying to.
"Ya know what ya need? YOUSIRR..." She pointed to him dramatically as she pushed her self up. "Needa new love! Someone tah make ya forget ya heartache!"
Sin crossed his arms like a child. "An where am I sposed to find that someone? I don think...uh fling wid a maid or a hottie from tha village is gonna be nuf tah do that."
Dez's drunken giggle floated through the room as she crawled over to Sin, flinging her leg over to the other side of him so she could plop herself right onto his lap. Her arms planted themselves on each side of his waist, doing their best to hold herself up as she leaned towards him. Sin's amused grin vanished the minute he saw her hovering in front of him. After a moment of uncertainty, he uncrossed his arms and slowly moved them to rest on her waist. Perhaps it was the alcohol that made him more obedient, and her bolder than usual, but even without the alcohol, neither of them could deny that there was some kind of attraction there. They weren't quite sure what kind exactly, or where it would lead but in their intoxicated haze, neither Sin not Dez cared to dwell on such details.
"I dunno highness...maybe ya jus aren't lookin' properly."
Sin didn't respond. His glazed eyes simply glued themselves to her plump lips as she spoke. Dez didn't make any attempt to move and neither did he. They remained trapped in their trance until the shuffle of sheets pulled them out of it. Sin had straightened himself up slightly, using one hand to keep the wobbly Dez steady on his lap while his other hand moved to caress her thigh. It was idle and careful at first, like he was ready to flip her off of him the second she gave him any reason to think she was uncomfortable, even if he did at that moment want to smash their lips together. Dez's shaky lips brushed softly and deliberately against Sin's. She pulled away briefly to cup his face with a warm hand.
"Youuu think yer so bloody popular don't ya. Your not tha only one who can play games Ya know!"
Sin kept his eyes on her, expression remaining unchanging. "I can see that..."
A part of him began to sober up as the realization of what was happening slowly started to dawn on him. Suddenly his drunken expression became filled with anxiety and panic. His decent into the darkest parts of his mind was abruptly halted by the sound of his name rolling off of Dez's tongue.
"Sin..." The sudden crack in her tone told him that she seemed to be having the same epiphany. He could tell by the way her voice shook. It wasn't because of the alcohol. It was a different kind of shakiness. It was the undeniable sound of her nerves giving way.
"Yeah?" He whispered back.
Dez reached out to him timidly. "I think you're attractive. I don't think it goes any further than that...I don't think...but just for tonight...are you willing to humour me for a bit?"
She didn't know if it was just the alcohol talking or something she had secretly been denying herself, but at the moment, part of her didn't really care. That part of her could only be bothered to focus on the look in Sin's eyes as she spoke. Sin seemed to be struggling to formulate some train of logical thought. In the end, the rational part of him lost and the last word to leave his lips that night was a breathy,
"Yes."
Dez grabbed a fist full of his shirt and pulled him towards her. "Then kiss me."
Without missing a beat, Sin leaned forward with an urgency to comply. He locked their lips in a heated kiss, smiling devilishly when Dez bit down on his bottom lip. The heat in her cheeks seeped down her chest and pooled in her gut when his fingers made contact with the bare skin on her neck as he tangled his fingers into her silky hair. Her arms found themselves around Sin's neck as they kissed wildly and inseparably. The Prince was much more confident in his movements now, dutifully attentive to Dez's reactions. Every moan or involuntary shiver was an invitation to go on. Dez let herself press flush against him, allowing him to flip them over. She quickly pushed herself up, wrapping her legs around his waist and trapping him on top of her, not that he planned on running away, to begin with.
Both Dez and Sin let themselves get swept away by the honey-sweet kisses and electrifying skin on skin contact and before they knew it, the night would grow old, the sun would rise on a new day and a raging hangover would await them both.
