Nothing could match the combination of a broken heart and the Valentine's day.890Please respect copyright.PENANAeDwCARPeW6
The time I took convincing myself against the idea of stalking my ex on this treacherous day had been agonizingly long, yet not enough. Even as I was looking at him a part of mind still untainted by sorrow urged me to reconsider and turn around, far away from this house.
I had been dating Steve for two years before he decided my heart wasn't good enough and searched for a better, much improved replacement.
Spying him hidden behind a large bush, my eyes traveled towards the red delivery scooter parked on the street, and they widened in realization when I saw the bag strapped on the scooter. Glancing back at Scumbag Steve and unsuspecting delivery boy; I spotted the former stepping back into the house.
I darted towards the red scooter, snatching the thing my mind deemed a bingo and tiptoed around the house, settling near the trees in the backyard.
Now masked, I looked up, my lips pulling up into a Cheshire-cat like smile. Scumbag Steve had laid out the food onto the table, smugly smiling, and I resisted the urge to throw a rock at him. The lady in question arrived, promptly squealed in false surprise and they started their dinner.
"I wasn't aware that pandas inhabit this area."
In all my masked glory - mask being a huge panda head stuck on my head - I pivoted only to meet the grinning face of the delivery boy. He remained silent, only glided his gaze towards Scumbag Steve and a flash of realization made his grin wider.
"He broke your heart, you are here to break something of his."
"Your deduction is completely wrong."
"Enlighten me then."
Irritated, I put my hands on my hips trying to look... unlike the deer caught in headlights. "I don't know yet, but I like your suggestion."
His grin unwavering, the delivery boy stepped forward and took the panda head off my own. "Pandas are lovingly foolish and sweet, they do not wait in bushes plotting a revenge."
"I'm not a real panda, Garret!"
"Who's Garrett?"
Pivoting, I hoped that by ignoring him he would disappear and so would the sense of embarrassment that painted my face bright red. I knew deep down that coming here meant only falling into the trap of my own miserable self-pity.890Please respect copyright.PENANA698QkHBS7L
"Being brokenhearted is not something to feel embarrassed about. It's hard, laborious, and sometimes you feel like you can't breath properly, but that's temporarily. I promise," he continued, putting a comforting hand on my shoulder. His smile was radiant with soulful empathy. "Go home, order a pizza and remind yourself you are strong."
He put something in my hand, and walked away. I brought the paper to my eyes and read it through the treacherous tears
"Foodpanda, it's yummy time!"
Pandas and nice delivery boys? Perhaps all combinations weren't bad.
