"Trust takes years to build, and seconds to break." ~Anoymous
Carmen was walking at the corridors in the schools, holding books. She heard someone calling her name, and she turned around seeing a beautiful blonde haired girl.
"Carmen, the brunette girl! Hello? Over here!" The girl said.
"Oh, don't tease me Sherley, my best friend." Carmen smiled.
"Where are you going with those books? Why aren't you with Desmond?" Sherley asked while walking along with her, keeping her hands at the back.
"Going to pass these for Mrs. Quinton, and my boyfriend should be busy now because he has some president issues." Carmen replied emotionlessly. 565Please respect copyright.PENANA2MqodxjbuV
"Oh, right. Your dating the one and only School President!!!" Sherley screamed through the corridors and ran off, turning back and giving her a wave before she sped off the corridors.
"That hyperactive beauty!" Carmen laughed as she entered into the teachers room.565Please respect copyright.PENANA1dp9uRjuaG
After passing the books to Mrs. Quinton, Carmen and Sherley's homeroom teacher. Carmen walked out of the teachers room and recieved a text, it was from Desmond.565Please respect copyright.PENANA6RC1CSo5Tp
'Meet me at the musical room, don't worry, it's empty. :) ' Desmond wrote.565Please respect copyright.PENANAtOUaY4xwum
"As straightforward as always, but that's how I find him cute." Carmen smiled and muttered to herself.
While on the way to the musical room, she passed by the school garden. The school garden has many beautiful trees with flowers on them. As the wind blew by, the flower petals follow the rhythm of the wind, grasses swaying along, giving out a fresh dew smell. Out of everyone, she spotted Desmond and Sherley talking. Sherley laughed as Desmond followed. 565Please respect copyright.PENANAt9jmsM4lRZ
"Getting along always." Carmen smiled as she walked away to the musical room and opened the door and slid into the room, closing the door.
After 15 minutes of waiting impatiently in a big silent room, Carmen was about to leave until Desmond finally came in.
"Your late." Carmen said while crossing her arms.
"Sorry, I had some work at the Student Council room. There's still 10 minutes left after the recess ends, you should go back to your class." Desmond said plainly.
"What about the things your going to say?" Carmen asked, thinking about he might talk about it.565Please respect copyright.PENANAp5ErPk6fv4
"Nothing." Desmond said, walking out of the room.
"But I saw you with—"
Its too late, he left before Carmen could say anything else. She was upset about Desmond's attitude, and went back to class.
When Carmen went back to her class and sat at her seat that was beside Sherley's. Sherley lean her body to Carmen's table.
"So? What did he say?" Sherley said happily.
"Besides that, can I ask you a question?" Carmen asked.
"Sure! Anything for my best friend." Sherley said, her voice became high pitched, which sound suspicious.
"Were you with Desmond just now at recess?" Carmen said.
"N-No! I didn't see him at the garden—" Sherley said and slapped her mouth with both of her hands, like she said something she shouldn't have.
Carmen raised an eyebrow, and said "Okay, I believe you," coldly. She knew that Sherley is lying because she is not very good at lying, but she forgave her, thinking that she lied for a good reason, because she had lied to anyone except her. Carmen thinks that she is faithful and loyal.
But Carmen couldn't concentrate during class. She couldn't keep it away from her mind. What were they doing? Can I believe them? Should I just ignore this or not? All these questions were floating in her mind, bouncing off the edge and comes back. The frustration was killing her brain, turning into a headache.
After school, everyone was hurrying to get out of school and meet up with their friends. Carmen was walking alone, swinging her arms around while she dazed towards the school gate. She heard loud laughs at her right, which was at where the fountain with an angel statue on it, spitting out endless water. Who was beside the fountain? As expected, Sherley and Desmond was there.
Sherley and Desmond were laughing loudly again while they didn't notice Carmen stood there. And when almost everyone left the school, they held hands and Desmond starts a kiss in the cheeks.
"H-Hey! Don't do that! You need to know that this is a school and Carmen could pass by any moment!" Sherley said, smiling.
"You know, she isn't here. She left, because it's late now. Carmen must be rushing for homwork when we are here smooching." Desmond said, also smiling as he kissed her neck.
"She must be jealous! But still you shouldn't do—"
A loud 'THUD' popped out of nowhere. They both looked to the left side, Carmen's bag slipped out of her fingers and fell on the ground. Tears leaked out of her eyes, her mouth wide open as it seems like she wants to say something.565Please respect copyright.PENANAKLKiPeayrI
"H-How long have you been deceiving me..?" Carmen asked as she ignored the tears that trickled down her cheeks, dropping on the ground that made drippy droppy sounds. 565Please respect copyright.PENANAtOHEEbLNEA
"It's not what it looks like!" Desmond said, pushing Sherley away from his arms.
"H-How... LONG HAVE YOU BEEN DECEIVING ME?!" Carmen screamed as she shuts both of her eyes, tears multiplying into more. Her fists closed tightly that filled with anger.
They kept silent, until Sherley opened her mouth.
"I was JEALOUS!" She screamed.
The sun was going down, the sky was turning golden orange as the temperature drops slowly.
"What?"
"I was jealous when you were dating Desmond! He was my first crush! So, I crept behind your back and when you are away, I hooked up with him. I know I was more beautiful than you, because I was more skinnier! You always get the spotlight! I-I know I am your best friend but I have feelings! You need to know that!" Sherley spilled.
"YOU HAVE FEELINGS? Oh, sure. I know that, but I ALSO HAVE FEELINGS. But, you are my one and ONLY best friend! You approved this, and yet you decided to stab in my back!" Carmen said.
"Well, I rather to be with Desmond that you anyways. He's mine now." Sherley said while she ran towards to Desmond and hugged him at the back.
Carmen wiped her tears as she grabbed her bag and ran home, shouting 'Betrayer' on the way. She reached home in her tidy apartment and slammed the door of her room, leaning on the door with her back as she slid down and sat on the floor, crying and wiping her tears with her sleeve.
After minutes of sobs and crying, she crept out of her room, her throat was dry and needed some water. She grabbed a glass and poured water from a pitcher, chugging it down. Until she heard a thud out of the apartment, screams and knocks on the door echoed through her ears. It was her father's voice.565Please respect copyright.PENANArO0SGR8yBg
"H-Help me, H-Help me! ARGH—"
Carmen came out her senses and ran to the door, opening the door and—
A body that was leaning on the door fell into the apartment, blood gushed out of the body rapidly and it was her father. The splashes of blood sprayed at Carmen's body as she fell backwards, crawling away from the body, screaming with fear and terror. 565Please respect copyright.PENANAn5U6JtzmWr
Carmen kept crawling away from her father and she knocked he table, the pitcher that held water wobbled dropped on the ground, and it broke. Glass shards and water splatter on her. It was like a horror movie in real life.
What will Carmen do? Will she plead Desmond to come back or she will keep quiet about this? She doesn't have much money on her anyways, would she keep LIVING?565Please respect copyright.PENANAunQMS1tiaz
