For this contest, I would like you to write a Hunger Games themed story about Clove and Cato, the two tributes from District Two in the 74th Hunger Games.
They are rumored to have had a relationship before the games, seeing as Cato, ruthless killing machine, put aside his weapon and held Clove in his arms as she died. He begged her to stay with him, which does signify that, whether platonic or romantic, they did indeed have a relationship.
I would like you to write a romantic short story about these two characters, and their lives together. It could take place before the games, during the games, or after, if they had come out of the arena instead of dying within it.
Rules
~ No sexual themes.
~ Has to be romance.
~ The story has to involve at least one romantic gesture, whether it's something simple like eye contact, or holding hands, or something more grand like a kiss, is entirely up to you.
~ Minimal swearing is preferred.
~ No word limit.
~ Maximum of two entries per contestant.
~ Use trigger warnings as needed.
