Quail looked over his shoulder as sun, jay, and echo played moss-ball “Hey quail!” Cried Jay, limping towards him “Do you want to join us?” He asked, with his tail waving in the air “Um…” Quail gave Jay a questioning look before shaking his head. “I-im sorry… Jay but my mother Rose`scent wants me to fetch some prey for her.” He said swiftly, “Alright…” Jay said, his tail dropped to the floor “Bye then!” He meowed before limping off to his littermates. Quail sighed as he trotted over to a pile of nothing ``Right…`` He thought, ``There's no more fresh-kill until the hunting patrol comes back…`` He realized. Quail`s tail dropped as he had to tell his mother that she would have to wait. ``She`ll probably get-`` Quail’s thoughts were cut off by something heavy hitting him on his side, causing him to yelp and fall onto the moss-floor. “S-sorry quail! I didn’t mean to hu-""It’s okay.” Quail said quickly as he got up, shaking the moss of his fur and noticed it was Flower. Quail then noticed dust, frost and red running towards them “Yo Quail! Next time you should look where you're going!” Red hissed as his neck fur bristled. Quail nodded his head but noticed that Red stepped in his way “Now where do you-” “THAT'S ENOUGH RED!” Dust yowled, as he stepped forward into front of the two toms. Red glared at dust before rolling his eyes and trotting to frost’s side, “We’ll be leaving now…” Dust said, Frost tried to move closer to Quail only for Quail to run away to the monarch den swiftly. ``Hopefully Rose`scent will be there.`` Quail thought as he entered the dark tunnel only to smell his mother’s floral scent mixed with another she-cat’s scent “rose`scent… I'm sorry about this but the fresh-kill pile is empty.” He stated, feeling his breathing quicken “It’s fine… anyways you have free-time go on and join your friends.” She muttered as she rested her head on her paws with mist curled next to her. Quail nodded his head as the dim light of the sun barely filled the den with. “Thank you.” He murmured as he then quickly bolted out the nursery as sunlight then flooded his view. Quail stopped in front of the nursery and shook his fur, he then stopped and flinched when he heard a voice cry out to the tribe, “LET ALL CATS THAT CAN WALK TO THE ENDLESS STARS, GATHER AROUND THE GREAT OAK TO HEAR THE WORDS OF HISTORY!” The mover and shaker, Soul`Supernova yowled, Quail then trotted over to the now large crowd of cats. After finding a place to sit at, he ruffled his smooth fur and noticed that the deputy was Oak`dapple instead of Soul`Supernova, “I have some very important news, that many may not take well!” The she-cat said, as her amber gaze looked over at every single one until it rested on Fire`mark, Quail’s father. “After a recent border patrol came back with Soul`Supernova had lost a life during an ambush attack from Fossorial tribe patrol. We almost lost another cat in battle…” She paused for a moment, before continuing “Ghost`song, was lucky enough to survive the attack.” Quail felt his body shiver as he noticed there was an unknown look, glittering in the she-cats eye’s. As Oak`dapple gave out her report of the ambush, Quail shook his head before getting up from his spot. Quail then walked away from the crowd of cats.

Quail twitched his tail back and forth as he walked on the forest dirt. He had never seen this before in person but had only heard the stories of how much prey can be found, the lushful green leaves, and the crisp brown wood. ``I should probably go to the safety den, dad showed me.`` Quail thought to himself as he remembered the time he walked this same path with his Fire`mark.

“Remember Quail, you may only be a kit but, just don’t tell your mother!” He softly muttered to Quail as he walked beside him very closely. He could only smell the musky mud on his paws, “So, why did you bring me here?” He asked as his ears twitched from a bird screeching nearby. Fire`mark looked down at Quail before stopping, “Well, you will need to know what the territory looks like, but also- know where the best hiding spots are in case of an emergency.” Fire`mark said, with a stern-ish tone. “Oh…” Quail softly mumbled, “Okay…” something in Quail’s body told him to run away from Fire`mark but, at the same time he didn't move.

It was midnight at this point, when Quail finally reached the Safety den, he curled into a ball after thinking of the memory’s. Quail slowly closed his eyes as he ignored his stomach growling, from not eating anything since the beginning of the day. Quail then fell asleep rather quickly as the warm breeze flooded the “den” making him feel more relaxed.
