The queen aware of the danger that threatened the kingdom, summoned her most brave and loyal knights to go on a quest to face the dreadful beasts and rescue King Arthur and Sir Lancelot. And also to reclaim the Holy Grail once again.
Sir Galahad, the pure and noble knight born from the love of Sir Lancelot and Elayne the Fair, was the leader of this noble group. With a firm determination in his eyes, he put on his bright armor and rode his horse, ready to confront the dragon and show himself worthy of his noble blood.
The knights traveled through perilous lands, the earth shaking under their horses' feet, and the air thick with expectation. Finally, they arrived at the dragon's den, a dark and fiery pit guarded by shadows and flames.
Sir Percival, famous for his bravery and honor, stepped ahead, his sword shining in the faint light. "Do not be afraid, my brothers! Together, we will defeat this terrible creature and win glory for Camelot!"
Sir Gawain, always the daring and bold, agreed with a nod. "Yes! Let us stand as one, united in will and courage."
And so, the knights moved forward, their hearts beating as one as they prepared to face the ultimate horror. Sir Lancelot, proud and worried for his son, watched from afar, his eyes fixed and filled with hope that Galahad would pass this severe trial.
The dragon came out of the depths of the pit, its scales sparkling like black glass in the firelight. With eyes that seemed to see through the souls of men, it roared loudly, shaking the very core of the earth.
Sir Tristan, known for his unmatched skill with the bow and arrow, aimed with his sharp eye, shooting an arrow straight at the beast's heart. But the dragon's scales were invincible, and the arrow bounced off its skin.
Unfazed, Sir Bors, the steady and determined, ran forward, swinging his powerful axe with all his might. But the dragon's speed was amazing, and it dodged the strike with a graceful twist of its snake-like body.
Sir Galahad, his heart filled with both fear and resolve, stepped up to face the monster. His sword glowed like a ray of hope as he lifted it high, getting ready for the fight of his life.
With a roar that resounded across the land, the dragon attacked Galahad, jaws wide open, teeth shining like knives. Sir Galahad's reactions were fast, and he avoided the attack, barely escaping a deadly fate.
Sir Gawain and Sir Percival joined their young leader's side, slashing their swords at the dragon's neck and tail. The beast snarled and snapped at them, but they held their ground.
Sir Lancelot could not bear to watch any longer. He and King Arthur had put their differences aside when the dragon attack them. He spurred his horse and charged towards the pit, joining his son and comrades in arms.
He raised his voice and shouted, "For Camelot! For Arthur! For the Grail!"
The dragon heard him and turned its head towards him. It had recognized him as its old enemy. It remembered how he wounded it once before in another quest. The dragon hated him more than anything else.
It opened its mouth wide and unleashed a blast of fire at Lancelot. The flames engulfed him and his horse in an instant. Sir Lancelot screamed in agony as he felt his flesh burn. He fell off his horse and rolled on the ground. Galahad saw his father fall. He felt a surge of grief and anger in his chest. He cried out,
"Father! No!"
He looked at the dragon with hatred in his eyes. He gripped his sword tightly and charged at it with all his strength. He leaped into the air and plunged his sword into the dragon's eye. The blade pierced through its skull and reached its brain.
The dragon let out a final scream of pain as it collapsed on the ground. It twitched for a few moments before lying still. Galahad landed on its head. He pulled out his sword from its eye socket. He looked at it with triumph in his eyes. He had done it. He had slain the dragon.
He turned around and saw his fellow knights cheering for him. They ran towards him and embraced him. They praised him for his courage and skill. They hailed him as a hero. He smiled weakly at them. He felt exhausted but happy.
He looked for his father among them. He saw him lying on the ground near the edge of the pit.
He ran towards him. He knelt down beside him.
He saw that he was still alive but badly burned. His armor was melted on his body. His face was charred beyond recognition.
He whispered,
"Father... I'm here..."
Lancelot opened his eyes slightly. He saw his son's face. He recognized him.
He smiled faintly. He said,
"Galahad... my son... you did it... you killed the dragon... you are the greatest knight of all..."
He coughed up blood. He said, "I'm proud of you... I love you..." and closed his eyes, breathing his last. Galahad felt his father's hand go limp in his. He felt tears streaming down his face.
He said,
"Father... I love you too..."
He hugged his father's body. He sobbed. The other knights gathered around him. They bowed their heads in respect.
