Navigating the Himalayas of Asia is never an easy task given its geography. The Himalayans have soaring heights, alongside jagged peaks. With trailing valleys and alpine glaciers that are of stupendous size, its topography has been deeply cut by erosion, with massive river gorges. But aside from gawking and adoration of such geologic details, I had gone on a venture through the Himalayan mountain range, in search of their classic and well known mythological creature known as the Abominable Snowman which was also nicknamed to be a Yeti. At first one might think of the three part snowmen made by giggling children and adults with nothing better to do but as favorable as that would’ve been, that is not what I had come face to face with. Instead this beast was a goliath, having a human structure that stood tall, covered in shaggy, white fur, which was most likely a survival adaptation to blend in with the snowy region that it dwells in. Another noticeable feature of this beast was its feet, which offered room for it to be compared with the myth of BigFoot which hails from Northern America. 149Please respect copyright.PENANAe9iOyBLRO1
On my travels I learned of many beliefs and ideologies in regards to my subject, an example being that in Tibet, images of Yetis, or alternately named Meh-Teh, are worshiped or honored as guardians against evil or malicious spirits. But on the other hand, Yetis sometimes act as enforcers of Dharma, and it is believed that to see or hear one is a bad omen. This ultimately leads to the witness of the Yeti needing to accumulate merit. Through my travels and explorations through, many people refused to explain further of their experiences with the creature, leaving it a mystery to most. 149Please respect copyright.PENANAAeramtde0q
Since I had such a bare entry for even the beginning of this travel diary, I will attempt to figure out more on the next creature I find!
Sincerely,
