Episode 22 - Murder on the Urge
“Master,” Sebastian said as he poured my evening tea, “are you feeling alright? You look pale.”
“Do I seem alright?” I asked cynically. “My mind is running in circles.”
“Aren’t you a little peeved or nervous about Scarlet?” he asked me. “You look awfully calm after a servant’s been murdered. Especially with how close you were to her.”
I then gazed up at him, lashes lowering.
He watched me back, the red in his irises flowing so easily.
I then arched a brow, tipping my chin up as I raised my hand and signed something to him.
He just closed his eyes and smiled slightly. “I see.”
I lowered my lashes, sipping my tea. “Does that answer your question?”
“Indeed, it does.” He gazed up. “But if you know who it is, why didn’t you just say so?”
“You know why, Sebastian,” I stated darkly.
He just leaned down to lightly pour my tea back into my cup. “You are very insightful, indeed.”
“I’m glad you see me that way,” I stated, only half-sarcastically. “Because everyone else is dumber than a two-year-old.”
“Aren’t you being a little harsh with that sentence, master?”
“I am,” I said then, sipping my tea. “I will admit that.”
“Master,” Sebastian said then, sitting up straighter, “you finished the first piece, knowing the killers. But the second piece is still missing… the mastermind. Have you any ideas?”
I set my tea down, lashes lowering. “Ideas, yes, answers, no.”
He just stood up straighter and closed his eyes.
“I expect you to fix this, Sebastian,” I said then.
“I’m handling it,” he promised.
I then glanced over at him, just noticing his hair was damp and dripping onto the floor, and his clothes were freshly changed, too. “Why are you wet?”
He gazed down at me. “I thought to go for a little swim, that’s all.”
“Uh, huh,” I said sarcastically.
