Jeremy held his hand out, steadying himself as the tension in the brig thickened. The ponies, Discord, Rose, Zack, and the rest of his friends watched intently, anticipation swirling in the air.
“Chrysalis,” Jeremy spoke with conviction, “in the name of Jesus, I rebuke this spirit of evil that is on you. I bind it and cast it out. In the name of Jesus, Satan, leave her and her kind alone! For it is written, resist the devil and he must flee.”
Twilight’s eyes widened, filled with astonishment. “Listen to how he speaks with such authority,” she whispered to the others, who were equally in awe of Jeremy’s powerful declaration.
Jeremy continued, his voice unwavering. “I know you’re upset that they took your village away from you. But you weren’t good for your people. Love is a gift, Chrysalis. And one thing that living beings do is not force love upon others; we show them love, and in return, they love us back.” He gently squeezed Rose’s shoulder for emphasis, reminding everyone of the bond they shared. “Your people are better off now. They are happy.”
Chrysalis flinched at his words, her expression shifting momentarily from anger to confusion. “Happy?” she hissed, her voice laced with disbelief. “You think they’re better without me? They need my strength!”
Jeremy shook his head. “Strength without love leads only to fear and manipulation. True leadership is about nurturing and caring for others. It’s about giving, not taking.”
Zack leaned in, speaking softly but firmly. “Chrysalis, you can choose a different path. You don’t have to remain in darkness.”
Discord chimed in, his voice light yet earnest. “And if you let go of that anger, you might just find a way to connect with others instead of scaring them.”
The room fell silent as everyone waited for Chrysalis’s response, hope mingling with uncertainty. Would she see the truth in their words, or would she cling to her bitterness?
Chrysalis looked at Jeremy, her expression a mixture of confusion and curiosity. “How do you speak to me with such authority? I came in against you hard, and yet you… stopped me in my tracks with your conviction and your faith. I am befuddled. I have never met anyone who could speak to me—or anyone—like that.”
Jeremy stepped forward, his voice calm yet firm. “My faith is built on love. The love of my God, who sent His Son to die for our sins. That love gives me strength and courage.”
Chrysalis’s sharp features softened slightly, the tension in her body easing. “Wow. So that’s how you can rebuke the evil within me… through your faith in Jesus and His Father? This is foreign to me. I have been upset for too long, and in the darkness for too long.” She paused, glancing away as if wrestling with her thoughts. “I need to accept that Thorax and the others are doing better without me.”
Jeremy nodded, his heart filled with compassion. “It’s never too late to change, Chrysalis. You can find a way to heal and use your abilities for good. You don’t have to remain in the shadows.”
Chrysalis looked back at him, her eyes glimmering with a hint of hope. “But how? I don’t even know what it means to live without power and fear.”
Twilight stepped forward, her voice encouraging. “It means learning to love and trust others, to be vulnerable. You can start by reaching out to Thorax. He cares about you, even if you’ve made mistakes in the past.”
Chrysalis sighed, a wave of emotion washing over her. “I’ve been so proud and so hurt. But maybe… just maybe… there’s a way back to the light?”
Jeremy smiled warmly. “Yes, there is. It starts with a choice—a choice to embrace love over fear. You have the power to change your story, just as I did.”
“Your story?” Chrysalis echoed, intrigued.
Jeremy nodded. “Yes, everyone has the chance to rewrite their narrative. It’s never too late to choose a different path.”
As the realization began to dawn on her, Chrysalis straightened up, a new determination flickering in her eyes. “Perhaps I can learn to be something different. Perhaps I can learn to be loved instead of feared.”
Chrysalis, now dried off and looking more confident than ever, watched as Jeremy pulled out some special clothes he had made for her. “I know you’re a changeling and walk on four legs, but… I made you some clothes,” he said, grinning.
“Ooh,” Chrysalis gasped in excitement as Jeremy helped her into the fitted pants, while Rose snapped her shirt closed with a cheerful grin.
“Here’s a mirror if you want to see how you look,” Jeremy said, stepping back to give her space. Chrysalis stood up on her hind hooves, glancing at her reflection, and exclaimed, “Damn, I look good! This color scheme matches my hair!” She flashed a toothsome smile, clearly pleased with her new look.
“Come on! I think it’s about time we see what Discord has come up with,” Jeremy urged, his enthusiasm contagious.
“Yeah, I can’t wait to see what he has made!” Rose added, her eyes sparkling with excitement.
As they stepped outside, they were greeted by the sight of three gleaming bright ships, each adorned with a ponyhead at the front and uniquely placed warp nacelles on the back.
“I give you the HMS Ponyville, the HMS Canterlot, and the HMS Appleusa!” Discord announced proudly.
“HMS?” Chrysalis tilted her head, curious.
“Her Majesty’s Ship,” Jeremy explained, smiling at her enthusiasm. “You could call this ship class something exciting, like the Wyvern Class, the Regal Class, or the Excalibur Class.”
Celestia, her eyes wide with wonder, looked at the new warp ships and marveled, “Wow, our warp-capable ships?”
Jeremy nodded, adding, “I came up with the idea, and Discord marked them. You did remember to add oxygen tanks, buffers, scrubbers, and everything else, right? These aren’t just shells, are they?”
“Oops! I did forget the oxygen buffers, scrubbers, and tanks. Thanks for reminding me!” Discord replied sheepishly, scratching the back of his head.
“Picard, doesn’t this mean they are prime candidates to join the Federation?” Jeremy turned to Jean-Luc Picard, who stood nearby.
Jean-Luc nodded thoughtfully. “Indeed. They are eligible for Federation membership, provided they can get the other species on their planet to agree.”
Chrysalis’s eyes sparkled with hope. “So, there’s a chance for us to be part of something greater?” she asked, her tone filled with anticipation.
“Absolutely!” Jeremy replied, a grin spreading across his face. “We’re just getting started. Let’s show everyone what we can achieve together!”
“Hold on,” Thunderlane interjected, raising a wing. “I haven’t given my approval yet…” He paused dramatically, his beak curving into a wide grin. “LET’S DO THIS!”
The room erupted in cheers, and the excitement was palpable. Jeremy smiled at Thunderlane’s enthusiasm. “Great! Oh, and the ships are equipped with replicators,” he added, eager to share more about their new technology.
“Replicators? What pray to tell is a replicator?” Ember asked, her curiosity piqued.
“It can synthesize any food or drink,” Jeremy explained. “For example, like this.” He activated the replicator, and with a few commands, a bowl of chocolate-covered peanuts and a can of Vernor ginger ale appeared on the counter.
Gilda gasped, her eyes wide with amazement. “It made them out of nothing?”
“Sort of,” Jeremy replied, chuckling at their astonishment. “It synthesizes waste products and other items into a gel that the replicator turns into foods and beverages. But you can’t tell!”
Thunderlane, intrigued, approached the replicator. “I will be the judge of that,” he said, snagging a chocolate-covered peanut. He bit down, and the flavors of chocolate and peanut exploded in his mouth, overwhelming his senses.
“Wow, this is incredible!” Thunderlane exclaimed, his eyes lighting up with delight. “It does taste just like the real thing!”
Jeremy nodded, pleased with the reaction. “Exactly! Imagine the possibilities. We could have a feast on board any time we want!”
Ember looked at the replicator with newfound respect. “This changes everything. We’ll never have to worry about food supplies on our journeys again!”
“Not to mention,” Gilda added, “we can try all kinds of foods from different cultures! I can’t wait to see what else it can make!”
“Exactly,” Jeremy agreed, basking in the excitement that filled the room. “We’re not just building ships; we’re opening up a whole new world of experiences for everyone!”
Celestia smiled, looking around at the eager faces. “With this technology, we will truly become part of something greater. Together, we can explore new horizons and share our cultures with the universe.”
“Hold on, everyone,” Jeremy interjected, raising a hand to get their attention. “These ships come equipped with autopilot, but we need to choose 20 individuals at random from each race to send to the Federation. They’ll join Starfleet Academy to help us understand what interests we have.”
“Good idea,” Celestia said, nodding. “We need a diverse group to cover all the necessary fields. We’ll need someone to teach exobiology, someone for warp flight, and instructors for engineering, helm control, and more.”
“Exactly!” Jeremy continued. “And we’ll also need proctors for the Equestrian Academy for space flight and instructors for stellar cartography. This is a huge opportunity for us!”
“Then we might need more than 20,” Celestia said, her brow furrowing as she considered the implications. “I’d say we might need 50 to ensure we have enough expertise in every area.”
Thorax nodded in agreement. “I concur. We should gather representatives from all races to ensure we cover everything needed for the Academy and beyond.”
“Let’s not forget,” Ember added, “that we should include those with experience in diplomacy and cultural exchange. It will be crucial as we begin interacting with other species.”
“Great point,” Jeremy said, his mind racing with possibilities. “We’ll need to facilitate communication and understanding among our groups. I can set up a selection process for volunteers across the races.”
“Once we have our candidates,” Celestia added, “we can begin preparing them for the journey ahead. It’s time to take the next steps in our exploration and integration into the Federation!”
“Let’s make this happen!” Gilda exclaimed, her wings fluttering with excitement. “This is our chance to show the universe what we can do!”
With a newfound sense of purpose, the leaders began discussing how to organize the selection process and prepare their chosen representatives for the adventure that awaited them. u

With a newfound sense of purpose, the leaders began discussing how to organize the selection process and prepare their chosen representatives for the adventure that awaited them.
As Jeremy continued to draft the candidate list, he murmured, “Okay, let’s see... we should take Vinyl Scratch for her musical expertise and unique perspective. Swirlbeard’s knowledge of potions and magic could be invaluable. And Zecora, of course; her experience in herbalism and wisdom will be a great asset. We might also consider a few of the Wonderbolts for their aerial skills and teamwork experience.”
He meticulously wrote down the names, ensuring each selection would bring something special to the mission. Once he finished, he nodded, satisfied with his choices.
“Alright, that should do it,” he said, glancing up at Celestia, who was observing him with interest.
Guinan smiled warmly at the group as they stepped off the ship, her presence instantly calming the nervous energy that buzzed among the candidates. “I know that after you drop off your belongings, you’ll have to head right back aboard the ship for the joining ceremony,” she began, her voice reassuring. “But don’t let anyone scare you. It’s not half as bad as people say. Most people enjoy coming through these hallowed halls.”
Vinyl Scratch perked up, her ears twitching with curiosity. “How old is the academy?” she asked, looking at Guinan with wide eyes.
Guinan paused for a moment, her eyes reflecting a wealth of knowledge and history. “The academy was founded in 2160,” she replied. “It’s been a place of learning and exploration for over two centuries now, training some of the best and brightest in the galaxy.”
“Wow, two centuries!” Vinyl exclaimed, her excitement evident. “That’s like a whole lifetime for some creatures. What’s it like being here?”
“It’s an experience like no other,” Guinan said, her voice laced with nostalgia. “You’ll meet species from all over the galaxy, learn about their cultures, and forge friendships that will last a lifetime. The academy is a melting pot of ideas and knowledge.”
As the group settled into their quarters, each candidate took a moment to absorb the significance of their surroundings. Brightly lit hallways adorned with portraits of esteemed alumni stretched out before them, and the hum of activity in the background created a vibrant atmosphere.
Zecora spoke up, her voice contemplative. “So much history and wisdom here. I feel we are on the brink of something extraordinary.”
Thunderlane chimed in, his excitement bubbling over. “I can’t wait to get started! This is going to be amazing!”
As they gathered their things, Guinan watched with a smile, feeling the familiar thrill of new beginnings. “You’ll each have your own journey here,” she said, “but remember, you’re not alone. There are many of us ready to help you along the way.”
With a final nod of encouragement, Guinan ushered the candidates toward the main hall, where the joining ceremony would soon take place. They walked together, hearts full of hope and excitement, ready to embrace whatever lay ahead.
Geordi La Forge stepped forward, a welcoming smile on his face. “I am Geordi La Forge, and I will be your warp theory instructor,” he announced, his voice confident yet friendly.
Zakura tilted her head, intrigued. “Warp theory? You mean like the warp speed that makes our new ships go really, really fast?”
“Yes, exactly!” Geordi replied enthusiastically. “You are Zakura, right? Your distinct markings gave you away.”
Zakura raised an eyebrow, curious. “Your eyes appear blind, yet you can see. How is that possible?”
Geordi chuckled lightly, appreciating her curiosity. “My eyes are actually prosthetic. They input directly into my optic nerves, allowing me to see in ways that biological eyes can’t.”
Meanwhile, Vinyl Scratch was engaged in a conversation with a holographic projection of Boothby, the now-deceased caretaker of Starfleet Academy.
“Hey,” Vinyl said, her excitement evident. “I’ve never seen your species before.”
Boothby smiled warmly, “Nice to meet you, Vinyl. I’m Boothby.”
“I’m a pony from Equestria,” Vinyl replied, her eyes sparkling with enthusiasm. “You’ve got quite the reputation around here!”
Boothby chuckled, “Well, thank you! It’s always nice to meet new faces. What brings you to Starfleet Academy?”
Vinyl beamed, “I’m here to learn and help Equestria join the Federation. Plus, I want to see what kind of music you all make!”
As Geordi continued to explain the intricacies of warp theory, Vinyl couldn’t help but think about how much she had to learn, both about space travel and the diverse beings she would meet along the way. The excitement bubbled within her as she realized this was just the beginning of an incredible journey.
After the academy joining session, the delegates were ushered back onto their ship for the formal ceremony marking Equestria’s entrance into Starfleet and the Federation. Meanwhile, Celestia was admiring the grandeur of the Promenade when she spotted Thorax speaking with Odo.
“Hi, Thorax,” Odo greeted, his voice steady and welcoming.
“Hello! I’ve heard about you,” Thorax replied, a hint of curiosity in his tone.
Odo studied him for a moment before asking, “You’re one of the creatures from Equestria called a changeling, right?”
“Yes, that’s correct! Wait, you’re a kind of changeling too?” Thorax responded, intrigued.
Odo nodded, shifting his form slightly. “I’m a different kind of changeling. I have to be in a liquid form in my bucket for four hours every day.”
Thorax’s eyes widened in intrigue. “How fascinating! We don’t have that kind of limitation. This is our original form,” he explained, gesturing to his insectoid features. “But since we have embraced love, we’ve all developed these new forms.”
“Fascinating,” Odo said, reverting to his natural form, an expression of genuine interest on his face. “It’s remarkable how different species adapt and change in response to their environments and experiences.”
Thorax smiled, feeling a sense of kinship. “It seems we have more in common than we thought, Odo. Perhaps our experiences can teach each other a great deal.”
“Indeed,” Odo replied thoughtfully. “There’s much we can learn from one another as we move forward together in this new alliance.”
As Celestia continued to observe the two, she felt a sense of hope for the future, believing that the bonds formed between their worlds would strengthen the Federation in ways they had yet to discover.
