If someone told me that my life would end up this way, I never would've believed them for even a single second, but life tends to throw people for a loop when they least expect it. I trained to become Queen since I was 5 years old, but last week at my wedding to the Prince, he eloped with my cousin who was much prettier than me, but wasn't as smart.
Well, enough about that. I decided to go on an adventure by myself to ease the disappointment and well, I just about got my parents to agree to it on one condition, that I take a knight with me. I took the one that was supposed to have no interest in me whatsoever, but when we left the Dukedom two days ago at nighttime, he got a weird look in his eye and well... I used martial arts on him to make him pass out and left him behind. So I'm alone again, but I can hold my own, I'm the second strongest mage in the kingdom and the eighteenth strongest in my particular branch of martial arts.
"Well, well, well," some man said when I passed him and a groups of men in a clearing, "We have a little lady traveling all by herself here. Do you want some big strong men to help you find your way?"
"No," I said, "I want to stay alone."
"Why? Are you ready to die?" He asked.
"I won't die so easily," I said as I flashed my crystal wand. The man looked confused for a second, but then decided to back away.
"I didn't realize you were a mage," the man said, "I hope you find what you're looking for."
"Point me to the tallest mountain," I said. He pointed to the left of him and I left the clearing towarfs the mountain range. I had planned on jumping off one of the mountains summit, but I wasn't sure if that would work.
When I arrived at the summit two weeks later and six weeks after I left home, I saw something I never thought I would see: Fairies.
"Miss, you must not jump," one of them said, "We can shelter you if you want. Then, you could live a life of endless possibilities."
"But why would I do that?" I asked.
"The goddess, Storm, has chosen you," the Fairies said in unison, "Of course we will help you." I frowned. I don't recall being chosen by anyone much less a goddess.
"She chose me?" I asked, "For what purpose?"
"The Goddess never spills her secrets," another Fairy said, "But you must not tell another human as they don't believe in the Goddess Storm."
"I changed my mind," I said, "I'm curious as to how this would work."
"I'm glad you changed it," the third Fairy said, "Because we need someone with your blessing."
"Oh..." I said.
