Koda Dragonheart, known as Truffle, is a 17-year-old orphan raised by the Mokari tribe, whose parents were killed by pirates. Despite his deep connection to the tribe, Truffle is excluded from the tribe's coming-of-age ceremony due to his tragic past. His story takes a painful turn when he learns that Kira, the princess he loves, is betrothed to ShadowClaw, a former bully. Feeling betrayed and out of place, Truffle decides to leave the tribe and sets sail with other outcasts to create a new kingdom called The Xiled, for those who, like him, are rejected by society.
