Echo Raine finds himself in a city called Selonika. He realizes this city is a utopia, for the people are welcoming and there seems to be no form of currency. He learns that everyone who lives in the city is dead, including himself, and houses appear out of thin air, containing the past memories of its inhabitants.
He's told that his house is the most depressing one in Selonika, and that he has a choice to make. He can either let the house crumble to dust and live with someone else, or he can face the traumatic horrors living inside it. He visits the central park and encounters a hidden path that leads to a cherry blossom tree, where he finds a beautiful, soft-spoken violinist named Violet Elysora.
