The day I had been waiting for finally arrived. The border had opened, and two weeks later, my family and I made our way to Johor Bahru. It felt like a new chapter was beginning, and despite all the challenges I had faced, I couldn’t help but feel excited.
As soon as we arrived, we set to work preparing everything for our new rented home. There were so many little things to get done, from arranging the furniture to buying essentials. I was finally going to be with my husband, and that thought brought so much joy to my heart.
We spent two days together as a family, making memories, laughing, and sharing stories. The time with my family was so precious, but it was time for them to leave and for us to begin our new life together.
When they left, it hit me—the anxious feelings that had been lingering still hadn’t completely faded. But it was different this time. It wasn’t as overwhelming as before. I could manage it. The moment my husband came home, everything seemed to calm down. I began to feel more in control, more at peace.
We cooked together, cleaned the house, and spent evenings watching movies. Simple moments that felt like everything I had longed for. We didn’t have to worry about long-distance anymore. My husband was right here with me.
Though there were still moments of anxiety, I had learned to handle them better. The reassurance of my husband’s presence helped ease the tension. We planned trips back to my hometown whenever he had leave, and those visits were always filled with warmth and love.
But, as life often goes, there were ups and downs. The road wasn’t always smooth. So many incidents came up, and sometimes it felt like the challenges were endless. But time flew by, and with each problem, we managed to get through it. We didn’t let the difficulties break us. Every setback was followed by progress, every hardship by growth.
Life in Johor Bahru was a whirlwind, but we faced it together. I had my moments of doubt, where I questioned if I could keep going. But my husband’s support and love always gave me the strength to push through.
And so, despite the many challenges, I realized something important: no matter how difficult the road ahead might be, I had the ability to manage. With him by my side, I knew I could face anything life threw at me.
