Marian Scott is a twenty-year-old college student in Descartes, Vermont. A Philosophy and Comparative Religion major, he tends to contemplate the world and the people that have inspired the stories that have been carried down through generations and across the world.

Unfortunately, his bookish ways doesn't leave the young man with a lot of friends. So, one night after meeting a strange college student outside of a party, despite his scepticisms, he makes an accidental deal with the Devil: he would be willing to earn a friend in exchange for his soul. But Marian is about to get a lot more than he bargained for, including a new roommate and an introduction to a world that he has only ever read about.

The catch? Lucifer is going to show this kid how to live, even, and especially, if it kills him.
