Olivia’s POV
“If Mel is a part of this, do you have anything to do with Jonathan Neale?”
“No, we stay clear of that idiot. Why do you ask?”
“I was planning something with that idiot. I can’t fucking remember though. When will Melanie be here?”
“She’s be here by the morning. You should get some sleep. We won’t be able to do anything if your too frustrated to think. Night”
“Night Dad”
We both tensed up but Thomas just shook it off and headed back downstairs. All I wanted to do was pace and think until my head exploded but I also knew that was not going to help in any way. I headed back downstairs and cracked open a beer as soon as I entered the kitchen. It was well passed midnight now and the house was eerie quiet. I gripped into the phone Jason had mixed, wondering if I should call him or not. In my irrational state I had gone weird on him but he does know me better than anyone else, or well he used to. I punched Nate’s number in but never dialled it. I quickly turned it off before I did something stupid. God knows what news Jackson had brainwashed him into thinking. I kind of wished I had taken him with me when I had left all those years ago.
“What are you thinking about?”
I quickly turned to see a shirtless Jeremy standing in the doorway of the kitchen. I gulped and tried to calm my beating heart. It’s been a while since someone has been able to scare me.
“Jesus Christ J, what have I told you about sneaking up on me? I could have had a knife”
“You are a lot tamer than you used to me. Why can’t you just tell me what happened to you?”
“It’s actually quite embarrassing. The great Olivia Anderson, taken down by some mysterious drug. Oh how they will laugh at me. I’m only tame now because it all quiet up here”
I lifted the half empty beer bottle up to my head, getting a small smile out of him. This will never go back to the way it used to be. I think I liked it better when I was only speaking to him over the phone.
“You should sleep”
“I can’t switch it off. It’s never ending”
“Maybe you just need a distraction"
“What have you got in mind?”
I watched him walk slowly towards me, making my mouth water at the sight. Has he always looked like this? I had never imagined that the voice over the phone would be attached to a body like that. He took my face in-between his hand and pushed his lips to mine. I was surprised but mostly by how soft his lips were. I kissed him back, placing the beer bottle back on the, before jumping up and wrapping my legs around his waist. His hands squeezed my legs as he walked us back up to his room. He was right, all I needed was a distraction.

Nathan’s POV
I woke up, sore and scrunched up in the arm chair. After I had gotten out of the shower last night, Melanie had past out in the middle of the bed. Not wanting to disturb her, I threw a blanket over her legs and crawled into the armchair. I should have taken he offer to sleep with her. At least I would have gotten laid and slept in a bed. Fuck I shouldn’t be thinking that way. I needed to focus on surviving today. From what Melanie has told me, she hasn’t exactly told her boss that she was dragging em along with her. All I know is that she was meant to kill be back at the Anderson’s place. The shower was running, so I hurried outside to take a quick cigarette break. Today was sure to be another long drive.
“I didn’t know you smoked”
I coughed up a cloud of smoke and quickly ashed out the rest of my cigarette.
“Occupational hazard, also from being around Oli too much”
“I didn’t know Oli smoked”
“Only when she was super stressed. I guess I just picked it up from her”
“If you’ve got everything, we should go. Headquarters is only about two, three hour drive from here”
I nodded and followed her to the office and back to the car. The drive was awkward and quiet. I tried to fill it wiht the radio but we in the middle of nowhere, so there was only static. I almost cried when the house come into view. I saw two huddled figures on the porch and instantly recognised Oli. I almost growled when I saw that she was huddled in another man’s arms. Melanie stopped the car, sighing when Oli and the man stood up together.
“Stay in the car”
Melanie got out and I heard Oli scream as she raced towards Melanie, almost crashing her down to the ground. I quietly got out, glaring at the man on the porch, wondering where the hell I had seen his face before. Suddenly I was engulfed in Oli’s arms. I felt like I was in heaven and hell at the same time. What had they done to her here, that she actually hugged me for the first time?
“Nate, you have no idea how good it is to see that Mels hasn’t killed you off yet”
“I almost did, a few times. The kid just doesn’t shut up”
The guy from he porch came towards Melanie and pulled her into a side hug. Oli let go of me and it wasn’t until I actually stared at his face that I actually remembered him. A face I hadn’t see in a long time. If he was here, then so was the other one. Growling, I pushed Oli behind me, flicking out the small knife from my boot.
“Why hello little brother”
