Once upon a time, there lived a little cloud. He was embraced by a loving sky daily. Despite a peaceful life, our little cloud was not happy. He was lonely. Some days his loneliness gave him chills. On those days he would traverse the sky all day long hoping to meet a cloud who had pretty eyes and fluffy cheeks. He would spend that day searching longingly only to bring the day to a close in disappointment. He would then try to forget his loneliness only to remember the chills again on another day.
Thus our little cloud lived his life. He had heard about the meaning of flight, the flow of water and also generosity. He has seen generosity from his mother. His mother was a big cloud. She would generously give the water inside of her to all she met. Truly, she was a mother. But his mother had vanished a few months after our little cloud was born. On that day, his loneliness was born.
One day our little cloud saw a back bird. This bird was flying happily across the sky. She seemed free from the burden of loneliness. As the bird neared our little cloud, he heard her sing a beautiful song:
“The sun, the mighty, the majestic one, where art thou? o thou the warmth of my heart?”
Our little cloud was young and had not met the sun yet.
“The sun” What a melodious name, he thought to himself as he watched the bird fly away.
“This sun must be beautiful. Where is she?” He thought to himself: “only if I find this beautiful sun, I will not be alone ever again!”
Without the least trace of hesitation, our little cloud started his journey in quest of his newly found beloved. He asked about the sun from the birds and the airplanes. He even met other clouds with pretty eyes and fluffy cheeks. But his heart was with the sun. He would ask: “where is the sun?” And he heard “towards east” some said “if you wait, she will come to this side eventually.” but where is the lover to be found with a patient heart?
As he flew across the sky, he dreamt of the beautiful days, full of glory, awaiting him. Little did he know, what really was awaiting him.
The more he neared east, the lighter he felt. The molecules of his body, evaporated one by one and he became light and delicate. “It’s getting warmer,” he thought to himself as he was beginning to see the first stirrings of a yellow figure. “Who is that?” Before he could say anymore, he saw the sun in the fullness of her majesty; pure light. In one instance he fell in love, and the next he was gone. He never got to say much to his beloved as everything inside him evaporated at the dazzling beauty of his beloved. His remains joined the rays of light, the loving embrace of his beloved.
