"L-let... Me go!" I wailed.
Carter didn't speak as he forced my hand to touch the boy's blood.
"You sure were fun but, I must be going." He whispered into my ear.
Before he let me go, he smeared the blood onto my forehead.
"Good luck." He grinned.
Carter hightailed it as flashing red and blue lights blared through the windows of my house.... Yes my house. Carter had brought this boy to me and killed him in my own living room.
Quickly my mind scattered for an alibi, the police have every reason to believe I had murdered him.
My hand grasped the kitchen knife and with the only idea I could possibly come up with, I dragged it along my arms and my forehead. My forehead was now oozing out with blood that dripped down my face.
Quickly I soaked the knife's handle in the boys blood and my blood to cover up my finger prints.
I laid down next to the boy and acted knocked out.
"You are surrounded!" A man's voice yelled into the house. "Move in men!"
I listened to them knock down my door and brake my windows.
A man's footsteps sounded close as he came upon this blood bath.
"Chief, I found a boy and a girl." A man radioed in as his eyes found the boy and me.
"Where?" The radio at his shoulder asked.
"In the living room. One victim might still be alive however we need a medic now!" He hollered into the radio.
He fell to his knees and felt for my pulse.
It it took all I had to remain calm.
"The girl is alive." He spoke to the radio.
He reached across me to feel for the boys pulse however I knew there was no pulse.
"The boy has no pulse." He radioed in just as a medic ran through the front door.
"Get the girl, we might be able to save her." The medic ordered the policeman.
Once his arms wrapped around me, I knew I would be taken in for questioning after I healed up from my wounds.
I'll always live with this secret, it will haunt me until it gets let out. Like a bird trapped in a cage.
