There's something peaceful about the silence, during those rare times I'm permitted to be alone, with only my cats for company, their soft purrs just another sound blending in and disappearing among the silence.
I've always been fond of silence, the time when one can curl up on the bed, radio turned down so low the sound is practically nonexistent.
To tell the the truth, with noise sensitivity, silence is my friends. You see, there's a whole other world when no one is around. You learn to appreciate the silly antics of the five kittens playing, while one cat is perched on my head, her favorite seat. I can become lost in the nighttime sky outside my window, counting stars, making wishes, and finding pictures among the starry shapes.
It's nothing to most, but there's something beautiful, because even though there is darkness, there is those orbs of light shining through, like a prayer answered in the most desperate of hours.
Have you ever sat and listened to the silence? Because it has a sound, but it's one you have to listen close to if you want to hear it, because silence isn't truly the abcense of sound but rather a special type of sound one can only hear if they listen closely, and it's the most peaceful of sounds.
