Camp Crystal Lake has a death curse. 

After two camp counsellors are killed in the barn, and other accidents, in the late 1950's, it is closed for two decades. In 1977, Steve Christy, the son of the original owners, finances $25,000 to fix up the haunted campgrounds, and hires other people to fend off rumors of bad luck, unaware that a killer seeks revenge for the drowning of Jason Voorhees back in 1957.
