Camp Crystal Lake has a death curse.

After Jason Voorhees drowns in 1957, and the deaths of two camp counsellors in 1958, and mysterious fires, the camp is closed for two decades. In 1977, Steve Christy, the son of the original owners, saves up $25,000 to re-open it, unaware that there is a killer who is bent on revenge, as he hires several campers, including Alice Hardy, the Assistant Camp Counsellor.
