For me, the pre-writing phase is much longer and more enjoyable. I converse with my characters. I make up plots as I am doing everyday stuff. I create scenes inside my head, contemplating the diferrent ways to make it better. When I finally sit down to write, it feels like I am reuniting old friends, the words come to me easily because I have known these people and their stories for a long time. The bond beteween a writer and their characters is truly strong and eternal.
