Kyle didn't really have the best childhood. Growing up he was considered the weird, shy kid. He also got bullied and had basically no friends.
But Kyle was fine. He just ignored everybody at his school. Well, at least until his parents left him.
At first Kyle was just having a normal day at school. He wasn't harassed much. Which he was thankful for. But when he arrived home he saw his mother, Tio and father, Dan in tears.
“W-what’s wrong?” Kyle questioned, his eyes wide.
But his parents simply ignored him.
“Honey, what are we going to do?” Dan asked.
“I-i have no idea.” Tio responded.
His parents were clearly upset and Kyle didn't know what to do. He just stood there, wondering what was wrong.
“Kyle, go to your room.” his father ordered.
Nodding Kyle obeyed and padded into his room and sat down on the bed. Worry flooded throughout his tummy and he couldn't help but wonder if he had done something wrong. Luckily, he could still hear his parents from inside his room due to how loud they were being.
. “We shouldn't have had a child.” Dan said bluntly.
“I know.” Tio replied. “We're both horrible parents. We let our child get bullied at school and were barely even home to take care of him.”
This made Kyle get even more confused and upset. Did his parents really regret having him? Was he that much of a failure?
“What are we going to do? We're both poor, we don't even have enough money to feed ourselves. Let alone a child.” Tio pointed out.
Recently Kyle learned that his father had lost his job. At first Kyle didn't think much of it. But now he knew how badly it was affecting his family.
“I don't know. There’s not much we can do about this. I can try to get a job. But I doubt i'll be able to get one soon. We're most likely going to lose our house as well.” Dan said gloomly.
“I don't want to give our baby up…” Tio said, tears clouding her eyes.
Kyle sat on his bed, listening to his mother violently sob. He urged to go out there and give her a hug and tell her everything was going to be okay. But the boy doubted that would work. In fact Kyle would most likely end up making things worse.
“Well, if we don't then Kyle’s going to have a terrible life. Would you want him to live here with us hungry, homeless and probably traumatized?” Dan demanded.
“N-no…” Tio sniffled, forcing her tears away. “But what are we going to do with him? There aren't any adoption centers around here and we don't know anybody looking for a child.”257Please respect copyright.PENANA8aIVEZTUwv
Kyle didn't hear the rest. He didn't want to hear his parents talking about how to get rid of him. The poor boy was only eight. He couldn't even make his own simple decisions yet. How did his parents expect him to live on his own?
Starting to cry Kyle forced himself to calm down. Maybe his parents were not actually going to get rid of him. Or if they did, maybe Kyle would end up going to a nice, loving home. Although Kyle couldn't help but doubt that.
Kyle loved his parents. He didn't want to be tossed aside like a piece of trash. Then again maybe he deserved it. After all, the kids at his school taunted him daily. Maybe his parents were also disappointed in him.
While he was thinking Kyle then heard his father yell for him. Gulping Kyle wiped away his tears and forced himself to get up. He hesitated at the door for a bit before wrapping his tiny hands around the knob and opening it. He then ran out over to where his mother and father were sitting.
“Y-yes?” Kyle questioned.
“You know we love you very much, right?” his mother asked.
“Yeah.” Kyle replied, wincing. He knew what was coming next.
“Well, since we love you so much. We decided that we are going on a trip.” Dan declared.
His eyes wide, Kyle couldn't help but tilt his head. A trip? If his parents couldn't even afford to take care of him then Kyle didn't know how they could afford to take him on a trip. But his innocent mind did not second guess it. If his parents said he was going on a trip. Then he must be going on a trip.
“Where are we going?” Kyle asked, happy that his parents decided to not get rid of him.
“Well, that’s a surprise.” Kyle’s father sighed. He didn't sound very excited.
Reaching in her pocket Tio pulled out a blindfold and wrapped it around her son’s face.
“We want to make sure the surprise doesn't get ruined. We're going to be driving for a long time. As well.” his mother informed him.
Nodding Kyle went into the car alongside his parents. They were right about how long the car ride was going to be. Kyle then arrived at the place after about five hours of driving.
“Now, you're going to sit here for a bit, alright?” his mother ordered, her voice cracking.
Nodding Kyle grinned. He didn't know why his parents sounded so sad.
As he exited the car Kyle felt himself get placed onto the ground. He didn't know where he was and he couldn't see anything due to the blindfold. He also couldn't hear anything. After around an hour of waiting Kyle ripped the blindfold off and looked around. His parents were gone.

A few years had passed since Kyle had been dropped off in that street corner. When he first found out that he had been abandoned he had been heartbroken and sobbed for hours. But he then forced himself to get back up and function again.
Living on the streets was hard Kyle was surprised that he was able to make it for as long as he did. He currently is thirteen years old. Kyle had to get his food from the trash-cans or steal it from others.
Nobody showed him kindness and that made Kyle turn into a some-what bitter and scared person. He wasn't angry at others, just afraid and depressed. After all, Kyle had nobody.
Sighing softly Kyle forced himself to wake up and look around. He was starving and just wanted something to eat. But no matter how much he tried looking for food he couldn't find anything.
Walking around the streets Kyle quickly darted out of everybody’s grasp. Kyle didnt trust anybody and knew that if any adult saw him that they would try and hurt him in some sort of way.
But Kyle must have not been watching where he was going because he soon ran into a tall guy.
“Watch it kid!” the guy growled, narrowing his eyes.
“S-sorry…” Kyle muttered, backing away. He didn't know what to do now.
Raising his eyebrow the guy tilted his head. “What are you doing here, kid?”
“U-uhm, I've been living alone for a while.” Kyle admitted. He knew that this was most likely a bad idea but he didn't know what else to tell the adult.
“Hm, kid. What’s your name?” the guy questioned. “My name is Jim and I have been living here for a while. It’s a surprise I haven't seen you before.”
“M-my name is Kyle.” Kyle informed him. “You haven't seen me because i rarely go out in the open.”257Please respect copyright.PENANAv0frcWKh93
“Hm, well Kyle how would you feel about working for me?” Jim offered.
His eyes wide, Kyle didn't know what to say. Would he really be able to work?257Please respect copyright.PENANASNHCJRXQgL
“Would I get paid?” Kyle asked.
“You will have shelter and food.” Jim replied. “Isn't that better than living on the streets eating trash?”257Please respect copyright.PENANAU8z1u8E3IX
Nodding Kyle had to admit that Jim was right.
“What will my job be then?” Kyle questioned, hoping that he wasn't asking too many questions.
“Your job will be to be my servant. You will clean, learn to cook food and take care of others.” Jim informed him.
That did sound very tempting to Kyle and what other choice did he have? Kyle didn't want to stay living on the streets with no food and he also didn't know what Jim would do to him if he refused to work for him. Although he wasn't getting paid Kyle quickly accepted.
“Alright. I’ll work for you.” Kyle decided.
“Great. Follow me.” Jim ordered.
Going into a random adult man’s car wasn't smart but Kyle didn't care. He followed Jim inside and sat down. Jim drove the boy to his mansion. His eyes wide Kyle gasped as he saw how massive Jim’s house was. It was a mansion!
“I will feed you then i will give you a new pair of clothing for you to wear. Then your shift will start.” Jim informed him.
Nodding Kyle sat down and ate what was in front of him. The food he was eating tasted amazing, almost tens times as better than the trash Kyle had to eat. Once he was done eating he grabbed the clothes Jim provided for him and showered. Once he was clean Kyle got dressed in his new clothes.
“What do I do now?” Kyle asked.
“You clean this room.” Jim ordered, handing Kyle a mop.

Kyle’s life was some-what better. At least he wasn't homeless. Although the boy worked constantly he did get fed and taken care of like Jim promised.
Kyle was still pretty lonely though. He didn't talk to anybody because there was simply nobody he could talk to. But at least Kyle was alive.
At times Kyle thought about escaping and trying to find his parents but Kyle quickly shook those thoughts away. His parents clearly didn't want him. After all they did leave him in a street corner to die.
Right now Kyle was just learning the in and out’s of serving and not being seen. Nobody noticed him and Kyle couldn't help but like that.
Hearing Jim scream for him Kyle sighed and padded out of his room.
