Private Rickie Kostopolous is a law student and Territorial Army soldier in The Queen's Own Hussars, a regiment of mechanized infantry in the UK Army. In April 1993 he is called up to deploy to Ustovakia as one of the peacekeeping units. Upon arriving there, however, he realized that the mission was null: there was no peace to keep, but there was war to wage.
