"Jeanette Chasity Bradshaw"
A newborn baby blinked up at the woman who spoke those words aloud the first time. The baby's mother held her gaze on the child as she continued speaking in response to a nurses questions. The nurse finished a birth certificate and left the young woman with her baby. The woman had entered the hospital alone, but later she left with another person cradled in her arms. She dotted kisses onto her child's head as she walked to a car.
"Jeanette Chasity Bradshaw!"
A mother snapped at her small child, who, after multiple warnings, had broken an overhead cabinet door by swinging on it. The child was sent to time-out into the only bedroom of their tiny apartment wherein she crawled into her mothers bed to sulk with tears in her eyes. When her mother soon came to release her from timeout the girl was sound asleep in her mother's pillows.

A preteen girl said aloud in an odd accent, adding emphasis to random syllables. A tightknit group of school friends smiled and giggled as another girl's full name was spoken in a funny cadence. Their conversion devolved into shoehorned rhymes and the consonants and vowels of their names swapped.

A highschool graduate shook hands with her principle and was handed a diploma. Names continued to be called as she walked back to her seat. She sat next to her mother who looked at her with teary eyes.

The words stuck out as a priest continued his speech. As the bride listened to vows, her future mother-in-law openly cried from the guest seating. The bride took a moment to think about how her own mother would react, if she were here. The bride snapped out of her thoughts and retrieved her prepared vows to tell them to her groom.

A young boy blinked up at his mother, apparently unimpressed with her maiden name. It took a few minutes of explanation for the boy to understand a wife's traditional last-name change. He told his mother he didn't like her first last-name. Then the boy asked if daddy was lying to him about his name too.

An old woman said to a government worker before quickly correcting herself with her legal last-name. She was glad her son hadn't come with her like he'd wanted too, he got so worried over the smallest slipups.

A priest spoke about her life with no emotion in his voice to a modest crowd. A coffin was lowered into a grave as the priest gave his closing prayer, in which her name was spoke for the final time.
