David loved music. He was a gifted musician and a talented songwriter. He even used instruments that he made. Skilled in his muse, the King of Israel summoned him to perform in the Royal Court. David accepted, but he doesn't become conceited, nor does he allow music to dominate his life. Instead, he used his talents to praise Yahweh. 1 Samuel 16:15-23 (NLT)
Do you love music? You may not be a talented musician, but you still imitate David's example. How? By way of music, we do not wish to allow ourselves to be dominated or induced to think and act in ways that dishonor God. Rather, we want to use the power of music to enhance our enjoyment in life. The ability to create and enjoy music is a gift from God. James 1:17 (NLT) ~ "Whatever is good and perfect is a gift coming down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the Heavens. He never changes or casts a shifting shadow."
David used this gift in ways that pleased Yahweh. Would you do the same?
