Moses had many advantages in life. He was raised in the royal household of King Pharaoh and educated in all the wisdom of Egypt. What will he do with his training? He could obtain fame, fortune, and power. However, he is not swayed by Peer Pressure nor enticed by Selfish Ambition.
Instead, he makes a career choice that no doubt surprises many. He chose "to be ill-treated with the people of Yahweh God." Hebrews 11:25 (NLT) ~ "He chose to share the oppression of God's people instead of enjoying the fleeting pleasures of sin." Does Moses lose out? Not at all. Beause of choosing to serve God and help people, he enjoys an exciting rewarding life.
If you are fortunate enough to have access to a good basic education, what will you do with that advantage? You could chase after money or power. Or like Moses, you could do something truly worthwhile with your life. You could use your mental and physical assets to serve Yahweh God. No other course of life is as rewarding and everlasting! Matthew 22:35-40 (NLT) ~ "One of them, an expert in religious law, tried to trap him with this question: 'Teacher, which is the most important commandment in the law of Moses?' Jesus replied, 'You must love the Sovereign Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. A second is equally important: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' The entire law and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments."
