Upon arrival, I witnessed the bright rays penetrating the dense canopy, casting a speckled glow on the area. The earthy aroma of moss and the subtle rustle of leaves filled the air. My gaze was pulled towards a girl standing next to Gavin, her flaming red hair streaming down her shoulders. The light touched the strands, forming a colorful halo around her head. Her green orbs' eyes glowed with a deep attraction that drew me in like magnets. She had an ethereal beauty that could draw the attention of everyone who came across her.
I couldn't believe it when Gavin told me she was the girl he was talking about yesterday.
A realization struck me: Scarlett was a perfect match for my father's description.
I pulled Gavin aside.
"Why did you bring her?" My voice was tinged with anxiety and fury as I urged.
Gavin sighed, exhausted,
"My mother forced me," he said.
"She's a threat!" You shouldn't have brought her here!" My anxiety grew.
Gavin furrowed his face with confusion, "What are you on about?" "What makes her dangerous?"
"Dude, she appeared out of nowhere, acts strangely, and has a mysterious symbol on her wrist," I blurted. "My dad saw it. "
Gavin wrinkled his brows as he pondered the facts. "Do you think she's like us?" he said, his voice tinted with both wonder and trepidation.
"I don't know for sure, but we need to be cautious," I replied, a sinking feeling in my stomach. The scenario was growing more enigmatic and perhaps deadly.
The piercing howl resonated through the night, interrupting our talk. Deoras dashed towards us, her breath breathless. "Ren! Gavin! Scarlett... she's... she's gone" she gasped between terrified breaths.
The news hit us like a gut blow, and a surge of adrenaline rushed through my veins.
Gavin's face was pale, his concern reflecting mine. "We have to find her!" he exclaimed, his voice tinged with fear and urgency.
I clung to his shoulder, attempting to keep both of us steady. "We will, but panicking won't help us think clearly," I reassured him, my voice calm but firm. "Didn't you say she was just a minute ago?"
Deoras affirmed, her fingers trembling as she endeavored to stay calm. "Yes, one moment we were all talking, and then... she vanished."
Another bone-chilling howl penetrated the night's silence, sending shivers down our spines. The sound was out of the ordinary, and a sensation of dread came over us.
In a sudden transformation, Gavin's body shifted, his form morphing into a powerful werewolf.
He dashed into the night, his movements driven by inhuman speed, shouting out for Scarlett.
Deoras and I fought to keep up with Gavin's speed on foot.
We yelled out, in our turn, Scarlett's name with each step, hoping against hope that she would hear us. As we ran deeper, Gavin vanished from our sight into the dark woodland, leaving us behind.
