“Everyone you will ever meet knows something you don't”

I watched my prey. Two men exchanging objects in the dim alley. One wore a plain black suit with a white shirt which tightly hung around his body. He had jet black curls which half covered his brown eyes. The other wore a black t-shirt that loosely draped around his figure and blue jeans. His hair hung messily on his face, and his red eyes continuously darted from left to right, as if expecting to get ambushed. I had seen him before. I think his name was… Sebastian? The dude used to get drugs from the Shade Gang before they died out. His brother was my target before.
“The usual?” A heavy, tired voice spoke.
The man in the suit only nodded. A drug deal. Five men arrived, all in black suits.
I quickly grabbed my phone out of my pocket.
“Hello, my favorite customer!” A voice yelled from the phone.
I glance at the now seven men.
“Shh!” I whisper yell, “Praveen, I told you earlier that I’m investigating someone, right?”
I move closer to get a better view.
“Yeah,” I hear him say slowly.
“Well, the dude is in some shady shit. I need you to get some information for me.”
I hear shuffling. Then fingers tapping away on a keyboard.
“What’s their name?” His voice gets serious, losing all of his playfulness.
“Samael Crane.”
The keyboard tapping gets louder.

“Come out” the voice spoke calmly.
“Damn,” I say softly.
I slowly back away only to bump into something hard. I turn around to see two six-foot men towering over my 5’6” self.
“… and I think I’m going to need some help,” I say before hanging up.
I quickly hid my phone in my pocket. I can’t afford to buy a new phone. It was always the first thing that everybody goes for.
The man violently grabbed my arm pulling me closer.
My target spoke, ”Portamelo” before turning back to Sebastian, ”Leave.”
Without any hesitation, the man quickly walked away leaving me with seven random people and one Samael. The man holding me forcefully pulled me closer to him. They seemed to follow the man’s every command. Was he their boss?
The man in question steadily walked towards me, ”So what is a pretty thing like you doing in a dingy alley like this?”
With one finger underneath my chin and the other above, the man slightly lifted my head so I could face him.
I struggled to get out of the black suit man’s grip, “I could ask the same.”
Information. It was the one thing that seemed to scare people off. Who wanted to mess with someone who had dirt on them?
I looked directly into his eyes.
“Samael Crane. Age 24. Height. 6’5”. Married to Adrienne Smith. Regularly met with Reyes and Kenji. Owner of Global Co. Owns seven nightclubs in this city alone. Did I mention that while handling all that, you are a drug dealer?” My lips slightly curved upwards, as his face tensed, “I wonder how reporters would act? Don’t you want to see their faces when they find out how the perfect husband spends his nights? How long do you think they will last?”
My eyes darted to his other hand. His fingers tapped the side of his leg. Amusement danced in his brown eyes, while they look like a warm hug from someone close, they also had an underlying aspect to them that screamed danger.
Ignoring my question, he fully grabbed me and pushed me against the cold brick wall.
”You’ve done quite the research on me,” He let out an icy chuckle, ”So who the hell are you?”
Fear flashed through my eyes and my body froze when I saw the animalistic grin on his face. He put one hand on my neck, and the other held both of my hands above my head.
“Who knows? I could just be a figment of your imagination,” I said.
His grip tightened, ”Then I guess we’ll have to try this one more time.”
I tried to move, only for him to put more pressure. So I gave up.
He whispered in my ear, “I’m not someone who you can fuck around with. Not only could I ruin your life I could do the same with your whole fucking family. So either tell me now or you will be toothless and homeless along with your family.”
A few minutes of silence filled the alley before I could speak, ”Try me”.
Before he could reply a phone rang. Samael looked as if he was deciding whether to answer it before picking up the phone, ”Hello.”
I could hear another man’s voice speak from the other side of the phone, “I’ll be right there.”
He finally let go and I took a deep breath.
“Stay away from here. You’re not going to be as lucky as you were today,” The man gave me one more look before signaling the rest to follow him with a single wave.
I watched as all of them slowly walk out of my vision
I stood there in shock of what just happened. This wasn’t the first time that something like this happened, but none of them scared me like this. They had all made some type of mistake, somewhere. Whether it was a record of assault that had been buried or something they had stole, I found it. I knew about it. But Samael? He record was clean. Not a single speck of dirt.
Police sirens could be heard from a distance. A shadow came from the entrance of the alley.
“Hurry the fuck up! I’m not getting you out again if your slow self gets caught again!” I heard a familiar voice yell.
Praveen. I quickly ran to him. We had a quick hug before running away.
”Pick up the pace,” He waved his hand fast.
“This is why you can’t go out investigating by yourself” He let out a loud sigh before picking up his pace.
