I jumped out of my house. The cold crisp air embracing me, a deep blue sky beginning to rise, the stars blinking. I ran down the tiled stairs, the laughter of my friends becoming clearer. With snow lightly falling, I raced past the white marble homes, going down towards a narrow sloped street. Turning the corner I see them. "Hey guys!" I waved. They were teasing each other, one holding something up high, another jumping to get it. The other sitting down under a streetlight. As I stood smiling, looking at them laugh, something invisible stopped the world. The snow paused in midair, our eyes widened as we looked to each other. "We gotta go!" One of them yelled. Without speaking we all jumped into a small four-door car. I jumped behind the passenger seat, the friend who yelled drove with another besides him, the other sat quietly next to me. We raced up the hill towards the large highway bridge. A chaos writhed in our heads as if silent bangs were distantly firing. As we darted up the empty highway. The scenery made itself known. The bright white sun had frozen under the far horizon, surrounded by the desert mountains and cacti. The sky was littered with the suspended snowfall, that the dark clouds cried. The lone concrete highway curved above hundreds of marble homes packed below us.
These people are my friends, I feel like, they mean the world to me. In a way I can’t explain. It feels as if we were meant to do this.
Suddenly we heard an ear piercing roar. I dart my eyes ahead, towards a distant dark stadium. Above the stadium pitch black clouds form, a pair of huge jaws emerging from them. It slowly made its touchdown, we drove faster towards it.
The monster roared louder as we raced into the entrance of the stadium.
I led the charge down the dark candle lit corridor. I know they have faith in me, I felt a surge of energy fill me.
We all paused, looking ahead we saw its figure. A small pale monster stood in the shadow.248Please respect copyright.PENANAwwBOFqgt2V
“Question one”, the monster said.
“Who Is the one true god?”
I was burning with the flames of hell. This creature angered me to no end. I moved without thinking, charging the monster. I have never felt so certain about anything like this.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!"
The creature yelped, as I socked it's face. It's eyes closed, a tear fell from my eye and as it touched the creature it disappeared.
I was crying, while being filled with my people’s rage. But, Who were my people? Why must I fight? Why am I so compelled to?
From the darkness ahead, the same voice echoed "Which scripture is true law?"
I slowly stood. My hand hurt, my body was tired. I wanted to cry, to scream.
With rage on my face, but tears in my eyes, I stepped forward.
I rushed forward, fading into the shadows. I lost sight of my friends, but I knew they followed.
The monsters voices all around me.
"Your Life is vile!"
"You worthless fucking animal!"
As I tore the monsters down. I understood that it's ok to cry.
"Your people are sub-human!"
KEEP MOVING! It's the only thing I can do!
I got closer to the end, towards the center of the stadium.
Rushing into the light, the cold air enveloped me once again.
Above me the swirling clouds had unveiled the monster. It dropped onto the floor, its massive jaws faced me, its white blank eyes stared.
The moon hung high. I looked towards that monster. I felt different about it. I felt love.
As if ready to pounce the monster roared, tearing into the night. I tore off my hijab it allowed me to realize.
"Ah I feel it now, I was born to love this world. No matter what form I take."
A surge of pain destroyed my body. My bones twisted, my head burst, our wish to be granted. Wings sprouted from my back, on all fours my legs expanded. Like a horse I stood firmly, coursing with power.248Please respect copyright.PENANATPyYw9jg9m

In my form I roared, leaping forward challenging the monster. It lunged forward growling and clawing. With each blow to each other we howled in agony. The wounds would heal almost instantly, enraging us both. Sometimes It would look like one of us would win, but that never came to pass. We forever fought, under that eternal sunset, beneath the beautiful cold sky. 248Please respect copyright.PENANAmc6PPxQKLr
