While Jow Brosphere was really happy and proud of herself, Fred and Linda were searching for Chief and Kelly.
“Where could they be??” Asked Fred.
“No clue.” Said Linda.
Fred got an idea and asked “What was his last mission?”
Linda answered.
“I think he was on a mission to sneak inside an enemy outpost and blow it up.”
Fred said “We need to talk to Lasky.”
“Agreed.” Linda and Fred walked to the bridge of the ship and spoke with Lasky, explaining their idea of where he is, and what could’ve happened.
Fred said “Lasky! We have an idea of what could’ve happened to Chief!”
“Tell me! Everyone’s going crazy and panicking!” Lasky said as he looked over at one guard in the room holding a brown paper lunch bag on his mouth and breathing into it and out.
“So, we need to know where his last mission was.” Linda said.
Lasky answered their question and asked his own question. “It was on Reach. Why?”
“There have been some reports of a female elite snapping Spartan necks and killing five Spartan fours really easily.” Fred answered.
“We believe he could’ve possibly encountered this female elite and has been taken captive.” Linda continued on from Fred.
Lasky thought for a bit.
“Hhmmmm. That would kind of make sense. But one elite alone? HELL no.” Lasky said.
“What if she wasn’t alone?” Fred said.
“She could’ve had like TEN elite zealots, a hunter, 30 grunts, a wraith.” Linda said.
“We don’t know FOR SURE she was alone. She could’ve had her men help.” Fred said.
“But what about Kelly?” Lasky asked.
“The Kelly disappearance and the Chief disappearance COULD be connected.” Linda answered.
“The Kelly disappearance happened a few days BEFORE the Chief disappearance…” Lasky mumbled to himself.
“We need to have a talk with both investigations people.” Fred said.
“Agreed.” Lasky said.
Meanwhile in the cell
”The demon?” A weird grunty voice came from the dark side of the cell.
“Who’s there?” Chief asked.
“No one.” The voice said as a grunt stepped out of the shadows, revealing his line-green marine armor and a backpack that’s about his size, probably a little bigger.
“I can help your friend.” The grunt said.
Chief looked at the grunt, then back at Kelly, whose condition seemed to have worsened.
“Fine.” Chief said after a few minutes of thinking.
As the mysterious little grunt walked over to Kelly, Chief carefully put her head on the ground.
“If you hurt her in ANY way, I’ll rip your head off.” Chief said as he watched.
At the UNSC INFINITY
”So, what clues have you guys working on the Kelly disappearance got?” Lasky asked.
The guy I’m charge of the Kelly investigation answered “There was obvious residence of a struggle, a chair was smashed and there was some purple blood. We don’t know WHAT it’s from, but-“
Fred interrupted “Elite.”
“Ok. Anyways, on the security cam footage, there were two blurred figures, probably elites. There’s evidence of some gunshots as there’s some bullet marks on the wall parallel to where Kelly was at the time. And if you look at the wall across from the bullet wall, an elite head in front of that wall. Other than THAT, we’ve got NOTHING.” The woman said.
“Ok.” Lasky said.
The man in charge of the Chief disappearance came in.
“We went to the enemy outpost with a few marines, no enemies. Completely deserted. But there was DEFINITELY something going on at that place. Because WE found some blood in a really old control room BENEATH the outpost. Along with some prisoners still alive, one hunter. Two grunts, and a few skeletons. There was also hunters involved, because we found hunter footprints that looked like they were coming from behind a pile of crates. Or, at least was USED to be a pile of crates. There was ALSO a little bit of a path. Presumably from a Spartan being dragged and a Spartan sliding on his legs or knees.” The man said as he showed the photos taken of the evidence.
“Prisoners. Blood. Hunters.” Fred mumbled, trying to figure it out.
“Spartan being dragged away, knee or leg slides, blood, prisoners…I KNOW!” Linda bursted out.
“What?” Lasky said, a bit started.
“Can we see some of the prisoners?” Linda asked Lasky.
“Sure.” Lasky answered.
