Only darkness can she see, feeling the biting cold around her body as she slowly fell into the deep abyss.
Her skin was pale like snow while her once flush, plump lips turned slightly blue.
Her curly red hair floats slowly, and her white dress drags her down because of the heavyweight.
She opened her emerald-dead eyes, looking above the surface of the water while she smiled melancholy.
She reaches out her hand, wanting to grab the light that shines on the surface above.
Oh, she wished that someone had grabbed her hand and pulled her out into the depths of the sea.
She felt exhausted in life, and she didn’t want to feel like this while her negative thoughts recycled within her mind.
She wants to escape this terrible feeling. Oh, how she wished that she could escape the reality of this world.
She is tired of disappointing herself, her hopes of other people turning into disappointment, and having difficulties building a relationship.
She wished that someone pointed a sign in life, or guidance to instruct her where to go.
Being an introvert, she doesn’t mind being alone, but no man is an island is what John Donnie said, and it is true because of being part of a human society.
She wonders if the empty sea she is in is a dream or a figment of her imagination.
It feels nice.
She closed her eyes, accepting falling into the depths of the water.
“Rosaline! Rosaline! Wake up!” A familiar voice slaps lightly on her cheek.
She groans softly, stirring awake. Her green eyes flutter open until her male childhood friend blocks her view.
His short blond hair is illuminated with a light that is filtered through the window, and his blue eyes frown at her.
She gives him a sleepy smile.
Ah, she forgot. She forgot that she was no longer alone.
“Earth to Rosaline. Is your mind broken? If you do, I should not follow your mom to wake you up like this, you weirdo.” He says jokingly.
Rosaline pouts at him, and she feels fully awake now.
“I’m just appreciating that I have love ones in this real world, and you are my only precious friend, Xander.” She replies.
“That sounds cheesy and cringy.” He shivers while he avoids her gaze with a blush, and he feels a touch after her confession.
“Hush! I’m wide awake now. You can go out of my room and wait for me outside.” She pushes his figure out of her view while she sits up properly.
Xander gets out of Rosaline’s bed while he walks toward the exit, scratching behind his head.
“Fine, fine. Finish your morning routine quicker. We are going to be late in class when you are slow like this.” He says out loud.
Rosaline’s reply is throwing one of her pillows toward her friend, and her pillow hits Xander’s head.
“Ouch!” Annoyed, Xander picks up the pillow on the ground and throws it against Rosaline, but he misses.
She sticks out her tongue at him, and Xander sticks it out the same childishly, and then they laugh together.
Xander gives her two finger salute until he closes the door to give Rosaline’s privacy.
Rosaline giggles because of their childish antics, but she doesn’t mind since they are having fun.
She wishes their friendship lasts forever. she knows that their path might split in the future, but their bond and memories are still there that she treasures.
Even though her negative thoughts are still there, the few people she loves still care.
