Tat opened the door then got into Leslie's bedroom.
On the mattress, Leslie was leaning his back on the bed board while his right leg put on his left leg. On chest, the young man crossed his arms; his face was fresh pink, but seemed not happy.
When Tat arrived at foot of bed, the youthful man opened his lips, "Who is that doctor?"
Tat took a low blow. He understood that Leslie asked about the doctor that he had taken him to treat a few days ago. It was hard for him to tell, but he had to say; he never hid from his boss.
"He is Doctor Huang. He is recommended by Mr. Bai."
Leslie narrowed his eyebrows, "Bai Ji Dan?"
"Yes," Tat nodded.
"What does he mean? Harass me then send a doctor to cure me?"
"Well, I think he does not mean to harm you."
"How can you know?"
Tat paused for a second before he uttered, "Bai Ji Dan likes the female owner of the sweet shop, but it is love from one side, the lady does not know."
"Oh!" Leslie unlocked eyes.
"When his grandma was alive, she liked to eat sweets in that store. Each vacation, Bai Ji Dan would return to Hong Kong to see his grandma and his grandma usually brought him to have dessert. When he saw Cai Hong, daughter of the store owner, he was sixteen years old. She is his first love. However, he did not say or express anything. He loved her silently. When he came to Hong Kong, he never forgot to visit her store. About two years before his grandma died, he knew that she got married. He had a broken heart, then he refused to visit Hong Kong, even after he graduated, he stayed in the US until he got information that his grandma was seriously sick, he hurriedly returned. Even so, Bai Ji Dan does not stop loving Cai Hong. He swore that he would not love any woman, then he began to fancy men until today."
Leslie listened with a mind full of amazement. He could not believe his own ears that a rude guy had a very sweet sad love story like this. Moreover, he did not expect that Bai Ji Dan was so romantic and had a loyal heart.
"How can you know?" Leslie said.
"Shan told me," Tat said.
Leslie cocked head, "Why does he tell you?"
"I think perhaps because he ever liked my cousin."
"He liked your cousin?"
"Yes," Tat nodded. "He was a classmate of my cousin when they studied in college. After graduating, my cousin got married and went to live in Spain with her husband."
"How do you know?"
"He told me. He also told that on that night, Bai Ji Dan locked all staffs of his club to prevent them from gossiping about you. That's why we did see no one in the lobby. At the gallery, when you were unconscious, Bai Ji Dan carried you by himself from room into the car. He did not allow anyone to see because he did not want you to be talked to. He is so careful about you. He told Shan to notify me about the doctor; he wants you to be healed and safe."
"Careful about me?" Leslie giggled. His face expressed he did not believe. "He threatened me. He abused me. Is it called care?"
"I think he might be scared that you are going to bother the woman. He has no intention to hurt you. According to Shan, Bai Ji Dan does not want her to know, he wants to keep this love until he dies."
"Look like you believe in him," Leslie glanced at Tat.
"I confess. Even though I just know him, but between Bai Ji Dan and Liu Kai Chi, I choose to believe in Bai Ji Dan. He is more trustful. I am thinking how Liu Kai Chi knew about this. It is a secret of Bai Ji Dan. No one knows besides his family and Shan."
"It's not important," Leslie said. "Now, the task before our face is how to get the painting."
Tat made his face low when hearing. He could not think of a way when talking about taking the painting that was in hand of Bai Ji Dan. It was easier to beat the mountain than to get a portrait from that guy. It was work that Tat could not help his boss even if he wanted to.
Leslie knew; he did not blame Tat; he realized that he had tried his best already.
Both the director and deputy director were silent for seconds. Later on, Leslie uttered to his right-hand-man, "These few days, I don't go to the hotel. Take care of it for me."
"Yes, young master. Then I take leave."
"Um."
The deputy paid a respectful manner before he moved his body out of the sleeping room of boss.
After Tat left, Leslie reminded what Bai Ji Dan had said when they were in the car. Then he made a thought.
'He was correct. We are men. We should solve it as men, and should not take woman in.'
Leslie blew. He tried to think but he was unable to find any good method.
Only way to get the painting was to go to Bai Ji Dan.
Young man knew that the male would say he had to win over him, and he was sure that he would be defeated and at last he had to give his body. It made the heart of the youthful guy heavy when thinking about this.
Leslie wanted to give up, but at that time, he was reminded about his late grandfather. The eldest pa raised him with care and with love. He never asked anything from him. Painting was only his wish. Leslie remembered his grandpa had tried hard to speak during his last minute. His words and his face begged to take the painting for him. He could feel that the drawing was very important or his grandfather would not ask him to find it.
Boy took a blow once again. He raised eyes towards the photo of his grandfather that was hanging on the wall opposite of him. Eyes of the elderly man in the pic seemed sad; perhaps he was hopeless that he would achieve his wish.
"Don't worry, grandpa," Leslie claimed. "I will fulfill your wish though I have to sacrifice my body."25Please respect copyright.PENANAR5Sn9tKViU
