"You feel worthless don't you?" A voice whispered in her ear.
Amaya turned suddenly, her heart practically jumping from her chest. A demon sat next to her, acting as if it was just another casual day. Amaya tried to reach for her sword, but her fingers trembled and she felt like she was going to break at any minute.
"Amaya Hoshina, the girl who had signed up to be an exorcist the day that she saw her little sister die from an attack." The demon said. It had the shape of a small dog, except it was pitch black with no pupils, and it radiated a black mist.
"You know, Amaya means 'night rain'," it continued, "and rain must fall..."
"What do you want?" She soon got to saying.
The dog looked in her direction. At least she thought it did; it had no pupils. "You want help don't you? Help getting revenge on Rin Okumura, correct?"
"...why would I want revenge on him?"
"He's fallen for a different girl yet he continues to lean on you for help. Doesn't that make you upset?"
She was too weak to answer, so she just looked at the dog's white eyes.
"Don't forget your little sister."
Her little sister had begged for help before she had died, the last words that Amaya had heard from her. She had sworn that she would kill every single demon. And then she met Rin Okumura, the son of satan. The tears continued to fall to the point where she knew there was no stop. Amaya had given up.
The demon became a part of her, turning her eyes from blue to white. She was gone, so far gone.
