It's a brand now day in the city of Vale, with many of its citizens just going on about their day. As we get a look into Beacon Academy, we can see that class is in session. However, It's not just any old class but rather, the practical combat class. We can see many students sitting and watching the fight before them. On the stage was Cardin Winchester and Jaune Arc. We can see Cardin has his weapon, The Executioner, perched on his shoulder, while Jaune has his weapon drawn, but he's clearly tired. The spotlight of the auditorium stage shine directly onto the pair.
Cardin just looks down on Jaune and laughs at him but Jaune manged to gather enough strength to stand up and charge forward. He reaches Cardin and goes for a swing but said boy manages to easily jump out of the way. Jaune looks back in shock, only for Cardin to swing his weapon at him and send Jaune flying back, but the force of the attack causes Jaune to lose his shield. Now armed with only his sword, Jaune goes for another attack, only for it to be easily blocked by the hilt of Cardins weapon. With their weapons locked in place, Cardin smiles before forcing himself up and towering over the struggling Jaune.

However, before he could finish his sentence, Cardin knees him in the gut, making Jaune drop his sword. Because of the pain, he falls to the ground and groans in pain. Cardin raises his mace and looks down at Jaune with an almost sadistic grin on his face. Jaune looks up in fear but before anything more could happen, a buzzer goes off and all the lights turn back on.

Glynda: "Alright, that's enough!" this causes Cardin to click his teeth before walking away, causing her to tap on her tablet, "alright students....."

She then looks down at the students and notices something that causes her eyebrow to twitch. As the camera pans over, we can see a sleeping Y/n with his arms crossed and his head resting on top of the headrest of his chair. Y/n: he then lets out a quick snort, "huh, what? Is the right over?" he then looks up and see Glynda glaring at him, "I guess it is."
Glynda: with tick marks forming on her head and a clear expression of annoyance on her face, "ahem, anyways. As SOME of you could see. Mr Arcs aura has not dropped into the red. In a tournament style duel, this would indicate that he's no longer fit for battle and the match would be over."

In the background we can see Jaune is still laying on the floor in defeat while Pyrrha looks on with a sad expression on her face. Glynda turns her head towards the defeated boy, who then pulls out a smaller tablet and sees the line beside his image is blinking. The rest of his team can also be seen on it.

Cardin and the others barely had time to process this as Y/n punched him so hard and with so much force that it not only send shockwaves to shoot out of his back, but it also caused the back part of his armor and shirt to get blown off. The sudden and powerful punch to the gut was so great that Cardin didn't even have the chance to let out a sound as all of the air in his lungs were shot out. Y/n then stands up with a cocky grin on his face while Cardin falls to the floor and judging from the blank look in his eyes, clearly knocked the fuck out.

Then we can see said professor zipping and zooming a crossed the screen while talking at near Ruby level of speeds. We can see as many of the students were paying attention to his lecture while the others, like Y/n, Jaune and Cardin were not.

Oobleck: zipping to one end of the class to the other, "yes! Then the rest of the class begins to laugh at him while Oobleck, is already back at his desk and then takes another sip of his coffee. Pyrrha lets out a sigh while slapping her forehead. She then shakes her head in disappointment. All the while Cardin pounds his fist on his desk while trying his best to hold in his laughter (as if he knew the answer, fat chance. Dude is dumb as a sack of bricks.) but Y/n looked as if he wasn't phased at all.

Oobleck: he then zooms behind his desk, "very funny Mr Arc! Cardin! Perhaps you would like to share your thoughts on the subject since you seem so vocal about it."
Cardin: "well, what i do know is that it's a lot easier to train an animal than a soldier." this just causes Oobleck to shake his head in disappointment.
Pyrrha: "you're-"
Y/n: "and you would know all about that, wouldn't you?"
Cardin: he then sits up and looks at the boy, "come again?"
Y/n: "oh, I guess I wasn't clear enough for you. My bad. What I'm saying is you have the same intelligence level as a newborn dog. Easy to train and follows its basic instincts but lacks any skill or brains." this causes others to snicker while Cardin to get even more angry, "the same goes for your little pewee squad you got going on. Just dogs following a puppy playing alpha." this causes Cardin to get even more angry.
Cardin: he then slams his hand on the desk in pure anger, "what did you say freak?! You wanna go?!"
Y/n: "oh please do. Make my day better why don't you, but we all know how well that last time went." this causes Cardin to hesitate a little bit while the boy just forms a big cocky but mocking smile that just screams 'try me bitch'.
Pyrrha: she speaks up in order to avoid a fight breaking out, "what i think my fellow classmate is trying to say, in his own unique way, your not very open-minded Cardin."
Cardin: he then snaps his head in her direction, "what? You got a problem too Amazonian?!"
Y/n: "hey, I know what I mea-!" but then Yang quickly covered his mouth.
Pyrrha: "no but i have the answer. It was night vision. Many Faunas are known for having near perfect vision in the dark." this causes Cardin to growl at her.
Blake: "General Lagune was inexperience in leading and made the mistake of trying to ambush the Faunas while they were asleep"
Y/n: "tch, what a coward. Only the weak use such pathetic tactics. Shows they weren't strong at all."
Blake: "his massive army was outmatched. This led to the general being captured by the Faunas forces." she then looks at Cardin, "perhaps if he paid attention in class, rather than be some meat head, he wouldn't be remembered for being such a massive failure."

Pyrrha: "give me what win? Wait Yang!"
Yang: in the distance, "never thought you'd be a rival! Take care but don't get ahead of yourself! I came first!"
Pyrrha: she then tilts her head a little, "rival? What does.........." then her whole face slowly turns red, "nononononono! i meant as a friend! Y/n is just a friend!"
Yang: in the distance but then she stops and looks back, "now who said i was talking about Y/n?!" she then runs away while laughing at Pyrrha.

This causes Pyrrhas whole face to turn red, even redder when she realized she just fell into Yangs trap. She then covers her face with both of her hands as steam comes out of her ears. Back in the classroom, we can see Oobleck zipping in front of the 3 boys.

Oobleck: "you 3 have been struggling in my class since day one! Tho that doesn't seem to be of any shock for one of you." he then looks at Y/n but then looks back at the other 2, "im not sure if you lack interest, lack inelegance, or it's just your stubborn nature but whatever it is-" he then takes a long sip of his coffee, "it ends today! You've worked hard to gain acceptance to get into this academy, and we only accept the best of the best! So we expect you to act like it. Our history is important gentlemen! With that said, the hyperactive professor zips out of the class and passing by Pyrrha, who was still waiting for her friends. He was so fast that nothing was left behind but a green and white blur. Jaune comes out first in a slump, but then Cardin comes in from behind and pushes him out of the way. However, before Jaune can fall on his face, Y/n catches him by his shirt and lifts him up.

Y/n: "no problem, now-" he then takes a step forward, but then Pyrrha grabs his arm to stop him.
Pyrrha: "he not worth it. Even tho I want to break his legs now."
Y/n: "teaching a weakling a lesson will always be worth it."
Pyrrha: "please." she then looks back at Jaune, "Jaune can you wait for me back at our dorm? i want to talk to Y/n about something in private."
Jaune: "uhhhh, sure. I'll see you later Y/n."

Jaune then walks away, leaving Y/n and Pyrrha alone. She seems to be distracted with something as she realizes that they are alone now and that she's still holding his hand.

Y/n: "soooo, Pyrrha." knocking her out of her thoughts, "what did you want to talk about anyways?"
Pyrrha: "oh, um. not here. Come on, follow me."

We now see as the pair are alone on one of the buildings rooftops. This gives them a clear view of the glowing orbs of the center of the tower of Beacon.

Y/n: "nice place. You're not going to confess to me or anything?...../ the fuck did i just say?"
Pyrrha: "confess?....." she then looks around in confusion, but then realization finally hits her, causing her whole face to turn red, "nononononono! N-not that!"
Y/n: "oh..... then what?"
Pyrrha: she then clinches her fists and takes a deep breath, "why do you look so familiar to me?"
Y/n: "excuse me?"
Pyrrha: "ever since we met during the exam, something about you felt so familiar but i cant figure out why. The way you talk, the way you fight, your whole attitude. All if it is just so familiar to me and whenever I try to remember, i can't help but touch this." she then raises her right hand and touches the chain on the left side of her circlet, "something about you causes me to remember something about my past, but I always draw a blank."
Y/n: "sorry Pyrrha but I don't know what your talking about. Until the entrance exam, I've never met you before."
Pyrrha: "are you sure?"
Y/n: "I am."
Pyrrha: "truly?"

She then leans in close, so close that she can rests her hands on his chest. When she looks, she sees how close she is and looks at his lips. Soon temptation overcame her to get closer, but she then stops herself and backs off. The pair then start to blush while she fidgets a little.

Pyrrha: "s-sorry. It's just that..... this memory of mine. I know it's important to me and why I keep this circlet with me at all times. And-" she then looks at him, "I know your linked somehow."
Y/n: "truthfully Pyrrha. I don't kno-" suddenly a sharp pain is felt in his head that causes flashes to come a crossed his mind. He saw some kind of arena, but before he could remember more, they stopped.
Pyrrha: "are you okay?"
Y/n: "y-yeah, just a simple headache./ what was that? A memory? But of what?"
Pyrrha: "well, I guess I'll need to keep searching, but I know your linked somehow. So I'll be keeping an eye on you. Not just because of my memory but as a warrior. i cant deny that i would like to fight you one day."
Y/n: he then cockily smiles, "hehe, is that a challenge?"
Pyrrha: she forms a more cheeky smile, "maybe."

The boy then raises his fist and points it right at her with his cocky smile still on his face. She then looks at him and raises her own fist until they bump fists. Right as she does this, some kind of flashes comes a crossed her mind, with a boys face she can't see overlapping slightly beside Y/n. However, his mouth could still be seen.

This causes her eyes to widen for a moment. The boy smiles at her and walks away from her with a wave. As he does, she watches him until he just about reaches the rooftop through the staircase enclosure door.

Pyrrha: "could you really be-?/ oh, wait Y/n!" this causes him to stop with his hand on the door knob and looks back at her, "l-look. I'll be teaching Jaune how to fight from now on."
Y/n: he then raises an eyebrow, "okay but why tell me?"
Pyrrha: "b-because...... maybe...... we c-could....... train him.......... t-together." she then begins to fidget a little and tap the tips of her fingers together, "maybe....... sometimes......."
Y/n: "uhhhhh, sure..... why not."
Pyrrha: practically beaming with excitement, "great. Then it's a date!......" this causes her whole face to turn red, "NO I DIDNT MEAN LIKE A DATE DATE!! I just meant..... what I mean is......... SEE YOU TOMORROW!!"

She then dashes right past him with her face still red. The boy looks at her with a raised eyebrow at her outburst, but then he shrugs his shoulders and walks away. We now see into the room of team RWBY. It seems everyone is asleep but Blake, who is awake and reading one of her books. Then the door slowly opens and closes, as the camera pans over, we can see it was Y/n.

Y/n: "oh, Blake. You're still up?"
Blake: "huh, oh. im almost done with this book so i wanted to finish it but your arriving awfully late."
Y/n: "yeah, I had to stay after class for another lecture and Pyrrha wanted to talk about some stuff. Its no big deal."
Blake: she then raises an eyebrow, "liiiiiiike?/ wait, shit. That came off more possessive than I meant it to."
Y/n: "oh, something about me reminding her about something in her past..... oh, and she wants my help to train Jaune."
Blake: "her past? Wait, she asked you to help train Jaune?"
Y/n: "yeah, pretty much." he then walks off and into the bathroom.
Blake: "may Ohm have mercy on your soul Jaune. You will be missed."

We now see that the boy and now Blake is fast asleep. As the camera begins to pan over to Y/n, we can see him begin to fidget and turn. He then rolls over to his side as his eyelids can be seen shaking. Tears begin to fall down his cheeks as his body slowly curls up into a ball.

Y/n: while still sleeping and whispers, "I-I'm sorry........ everyone."

Then as the camera pans over, we can see that both Yang and Blake are now awake, with Yang having already gotten out of her bed and now standing on the floor. The pair look at each other for a second before nodding at each other. Blake then gets off of her bed and stands next to Yang. The pair then walks towards Y/ns bed and climbs into it. Yang then gets behind the boy, wrapping her arms around his chest and leans her head against his back. Blake then wraps her arms around his head and holds him close to her chest, while wrapping one of her legs around one of his legs. This warm embrace causes the boy to slowly stop trembling and drift into a deeper state of sleep, letting out soft breathing noises. The pair then look at each other before smiling. Following his lead, the pair lean against him and start to fall fast asleep.
With the sounds of soft snoring filling the air, the camera begins to pan over into the room of team JNPR. We can see everyone is fast asleep, everyone but Pyrrha that is. we can see she has her circlet resting on her chest before picking it up and looking at it. She then lets out a small but warm smile before resting the forehead piece against her forehead.

Pyrrha: "I finally found you. After all this time, I finally found you." the scene then slowly fades to black until nothing was left, "my reason to become strong."
Mysterious Boy (Flashback): "what is it you want out of life?"

A/n: welp, that's it for this chapter. Did you like it? Yeah I know, this one was pretty short when compared to my other chapters. It's not like im trying to make them long or short, it just happens, and I didn't see much reason to make this one any longer than it is. also im aware, I should've had her touch her circlet more often throughout the previous chapters, but this was a last minute decision. i always wanted you to be a part of her past, but I haven't figured out in what way yet. This idea came to me while I was writing this chapter. I do wish it came to me sooner, so i could foreshadow it, but oh well. Nothing can be done about it now. Also, IDK what the canon reason as to why she constantly wears it, if one was ever given, but im doing this for my series. Welp, that's all i can think of. So I'll see you....... in the next chapter.
