A cat slams her half eaten burrito on the counter. "I asked for extra cheese! Where is the extra cheese?"
A fox furry behind the counter sighs and he walks up to the counter. "Ma'am, the extra cheese is in there. It's just...saucier." "But I wanted extra cheese! Not extra cheesesauce!" The cat furry complained.
"Listen Karen, we're low on shredded cheese," the fox started.
"I don't care!" The cat furry hissed. Twilight, while enjoying his tacos, couldn't help but be entertained by the drama, his ears twitching slightly with amusement.
The dog furry sighed. "Alright. You want more cheese?" He looked behind him. "Mike! Throw me a burrito!"
"You got it Dan!" Another dog furry, Mike, behind the counter, hurriedly made and wrapped up another burrito, then threw it at Dan's snout.
"Dammit Mike! I said throw it to me! Not at me!" Dan sighed again then gave the newly made burrito to the fox furry with a forced smile. "Have a nice day."
Dan watched as the fox furry walked away before taking the half eaten burrito and throwing it at Mike.
Twilight continued to watch from a distance. He chuckled quietly.
"This is why we're constantly running out of tortillas!" Another furry hissed from behind the counter. "You two idiots keep throwing burritos!"
Mike and Dan point at each other.
"I don't give a shit who started it! If you keep this up, I'm telling the manager." The voice growled.
Mike and Dan immediately panicked. "Don't tell him! Don't tell him Lexi!"
Dan's ears flattened against his head. "Lexi, listen, if my mom, if she finds out I got fired, she will have my ass."
"We'll stop throwing burritos! Just don't tell the manager!" Mike begged.
Lexi considered Mike's words. "Alright then. But the next time—"
Suddenly the doors burst wide open, two masked furries holding laser guns burst through the door.
"G-give us all your burritos--now!" One of the cats demanded, before her voice started glitching. "Or else or else else else or else."
"Give us all your burritos. Or else we'll make your lives very miserable." said the other cat..
The room fell silent. The employees and customers alike stared in shock, frozen in place. Twilight, still at his table, raised an eyebrow, intrigued by the sudden turn of events.
Dan looked around nervously. "Uh, we don't have a lot of burritos left," he said, trying to keep his voice steady.
Lexi shot Dan a glare. Twilight couldn't help but get in on the conversation. "Did you know, you are what you eat?"
"S-s-so does th-that that m-m-make me a-a-a-a-a burrito?" The cyborg cat asked.
"Precisely," Twilight answered.
"So wouldn't that make you a taco?" the black cat asked.
Twilight tapped his fingers on the table, trying to think of an answer. "I guess so."
Mike places a bag on the counter.
"What are those?" Lexi asked.
"It's what they ordered..." Mike said, motioning to the two masked cat furries with laser guns. Dan palmed his face.
"Technically they didn't order it..." Twilight pointed out. The glitching cat furry took the bag, unable to contain her energy.
The room was still filled with stunned silence as Glitch’s glitched voice echoed through the air. Luna, standing with her laser gun pointed firmly, glanced at Mike and Dan, who looked visibly nervous.
"Uh, w-we don't have that many burritos left," Dan repeated, trying to keep his composure.
Luna’s magenta eye flickered with annoyance. “We don’t care how many you have left. We want them all.”
Twilight leaned forward, intrigued. “So, are you two just hungry, or is this some sort of elaborate scheme?”
Glitch’s voice wavered again as she processed. “Hungry...and also...want to...cause chaos!” Her eye flickered with cyber-blue lines.
Luna scowled. “Just give us the burritos. We don’t have time for chit-chat.”
Mike, looking desperate, placed the bag of burritos on the counter and pushed it towards Glitch. “Here. Take it. Just please, leave everyone alone.”
Glitch eagerly grabbed the bag, her excitement almost palpable. “Thank you thank you thank you! We will make sure to...not cause more trouble. Maybe.”
Luna glanced at Glitch, then back at the room full of confused onlookers. “Remember, if you ever get in our way again, we’ll be back.”
As the two masked furries turned to leave, Twilight’s eyes followed them. “So, you think they'll come back?”
“Probably,” Lexi said, crossing her arms. “But let’s hope next time they don’t bring laser guns.”
The employees and customers began to slowly move again, the tension lifting from the air. Dan sighed with relief, wiping his forehead.
“Well,” Twilight said with a smirk, “at least now you can get back to your burrito drama.”
Lexi shot him a wary glance. “Yeah, and hopefully without any more interruptions.”
Twilight chuckled quietly, watching as the employees tried to regain their composure.
Luna and Glitch arrived back home and took off their masks. Glitch jumped into Luna's desk chair and spun around happily. "Eeee!"
"Focus, Glitch. Remember what we were going to do after getting our burritos from Furbell," said Luna.
Glitch stopped spinning in the chair. Her voice made a slight static notice as she tried to remember. Glitch shook her head. "I know! We were going to rob the museum!"
"Good to see your voice has stopped glitching. But no. We are not robbing a museum," Luna answered.
"Kidnapping the police!" Glitch blurted.
Luna shook her head. "What the hell? Glitch! No!"
"Tax evasion?" Glitch asked.
Luna palmed her face. "No. Wait...no. We can avoid the authorities but not the IRS."
"Eat burritos?" Glitch asked.
"Yes. But after that what were we going to do?" Luna asked.
Glitch's face lit up as she processed Luna's question. "Oh! I remember now! We were going to...hack the city's traffic system! Right?"
Luna nodded approvingly. "Exactly. We’ll use the chaos to cover our tracks and keep our activities under the radar."
Glitch clapped her paws excitedly. "Yes! And then we can go to the park and pretend to be normal citizens!"
Luna smirked, a hint of satisfaction in her voice. “Yes, that’s the plan. Now let’s eat these burritos before we start. I don’t want to be caught hungry during our operation.”
Glitch eagerly unwrapped a burrito, her glitching voice briefly becoming more pronounced with her excitement. "Perfect! I love burritos."
As they began to eat, Luna glanced at Glitch with a mixture of exasperation and fondness. “Just try not to forget the plan halfway through. We have a lot to do tonight.”
Glitch nodded enthusiastically, though her voice still occasionally glitched. “Got it! Rob... uh, no, hack the traffic system! And then, park!”
“Right,” Luna said, rolling her eyes but smiling slightly. “Let’s finish up and get moving.”
With that, the two continued their meal, preparing for their night of mischief while blending into the everyday world as best as they could.
Meanwhile, Twilight peaked into the house. He had followed Glitch and Luna since they left Furbell. "Huh. You'd think these robbers would have more security systems," Twilight muttered. Twilight's Shadow appeared behind him.
Shadow emerged from the darkness, his form shifting as he took on the appearance of a sleek, shadowy feline. “What’s the plan, Master?” he asked in a low, ominous tone.
Twilight glanced back at Shadow, a thoughtful expression on his face. “I want to find out what these two are up to. They seem to be more than just your average troublemakers.”
Shadow’s eyes glowed faintly as he considered the task. “Shall I infiltrate their home and gather information?”
Twilight nodded. “Yes, but be discreet. We don’t want them to realize they’re being watched. Just see what you can find out about their next move.”
Shadow’s form shimmered and then melded into the shadows of the house, becoming nearly invisible. Twilight watched as Shadow slipped through a crack in the door, silently making his way inside.
Twilight waited outside, his curiosity piqued. He listened for any sounds that might indicate what was happening inside, ready to act if necessary.
Twilight's eyes scanned the area around the house, looking for any signs or clues that might hint at what Glitch and Luna were planning. He noticed a few scattered items—some strange equipment and a set of partially open blueprints on a nearby table.
Curious, he approached the window and peered inside, hoping to catch a glimpse of the ongoing activities. He saw Glitch and Luna still eating their burritos, their conversation full of energy and mischief. Twilight considered whether to enter and investigate further or wait for Shadow’s report.
As he contemplated his next move, Twilight kept an ear out for any unusual noises or signs of activity that might give him more insight into the duo's plans.
Twilight yelped as a laser flew past him. He cautiously peered back through the window and saw Glitch staring at her glitched arm in surprise. The once-normal limb had transformed into a sleek, high-tech weapon, glowing with energy. "I can do that?" Glitch asked in disbelief. Luna scoffed. "Well, I dunno. That's what it looks like. What did you do?"
Glitch shrugged, trying to flex her arm and return it to normal. Twilight, from his vantage point, couldn’t help but smirk. Looks like these two are more dangerous than I thought, he mused.
Just then, Shadow materialized beside him, his voice low. “Master, they seem to be experimenting with technology far beyond what I expected. They’re preparing for something big.”
Twilight’s eyes narrowed as he watched Glitch fumble with her arm. “Interesting... We need to keep a close watch. They might be more useful than I initially thought.”
Shadow nodded in agreement, fading back into the shadows, ready to obey Twilight’s next command.
But Shadow came back as soon as he left, and the two could hear the sound of walls crashing down. A large mech crashed out of the house and picked up Twilight. Luna and Glitch, who were inside the mech, watch with amusement as Twilight struggled to free his tail from the mech's grasp.
Twilight grunted as he struggled, his tail trapped in the mech’s firm grasp. “Let me go, you lunatics!” he barked, glaring up at Glitch and Luna, who sat comfortably inside the mech’s cockpit, watching the scene unfold.
Glitch giggled, her voice glitching with excitement. “Oh look! We caught a taco!”
Luna smirked, leaning back in her seat. “Looks like you’ve been following us, huh? Not a very smart move, wolf.”
Twilight growled, still trying to free his tail. “I wasn’t following you—just observing. There’s a difference!”
The mech’s grip tightened slightly, causing Twilight to wince. Shadow emerged from the darkness once again, his form shifting into a towering bear furry. “Master, shall I intervene?”
Glitch's eyes widened with curiosity as she saw Shadow shift. "Whoa! He can change into things too?"
Luna glanced at Shadow, then back to Twilight. “Looks like your little shadow pet is loyal. But I wouldn’t recommend attacking us. You’re kind of in a... tight situation.”
Twilight gritted his teeth. “I don’t take kindly to being captured. Release me now, or you’ll regret it.”
Luna raised an eyebrow, clearly enjoying the power shift. “Or what? You’ll...what? Struggle harder?”
Twilight smirked, despite his predicament. “Oh, trust me. I always have a plan.” He whistled sharply, and Shadow, now in the form of a large bird, swooped down, pecking at the mech’s hand to release Twilight’s tail.
The mech stumbled slightly, and in the confusion, Twilight freed himself, landing on the ground with a graceful thud. Without looking back, Twilight ran away laughing...only to be dragged back again by the mech.
Twilight dug his claws into the ground, whimpering as the mech pulled him back. "Stop right there!" A voice demanded. The three furies paused. The police were all pointing laser guns at them.
"We've found you, Shadow Paw!" One of the police barked. "And we have you surrounded!"
Twilight chuckled sheepishly. "Damn. I thought I was a dead furry."
"You will be if you don't turn yourself in!" Another police barked.
"Listen, there must be some sort of misunderstanding here," Twilight started.
Twilight’s attempt to explain was cut short as the police officers closed in, their laser guns aimed squarely at him. “I swear, you’ve got the wrong guy! I’m just... investigating!” he tried again, but they were having none of it.
“Save it, Shadow Paw,” one of the officers growled. “You’re coming with us, dead or alive.”
Twilight sighed. "Oh great, just my luck. Glitch and Luna, care to help?"
Luna raised an eyebrow, still inside the mech. “Why would we? This is way too entertaining.”
Glitch giggled, her voice glitching as she added, “Besides, you followed us. That’s your own problem now!”
Meanwhile...
A wolf furry was sneaking around the hangar. His eyes were wide with awe and wonder. Finally, he was where he belonged. He had waited for the day when he would have his own ship for far too long. The wolf tugged at the collar of his jacket and climbed into one of the spaceships. He walked around the ship, his paws feeling against the walls.
Meanwhile....again...
Twilight growled in frustration as the fur police closed in, their laser guns trained on him, Glitch, and Luna. "I swear, this day just keeps getting better," he muttered sarcastically.
Just as the situation seemed hopeless, a low hum echoed from a nearby hangar. Twilight’s ears perked up, and he spotted an idle spaceship not too far from where they were. “Looks like we’ve got our escape,” he said, pointing toward the hangar.
Luna smirked from the cockpit of the mech. “That’s your plan? Steal a ship? I’m in.”
Glitch clapped her hands, her glitchy voice stuttering with excitement. “I-I get to fly it, right?”
But before Twilight could object, the three of them bolted for the spaceship. Inside the hangar, Levi, the proud gray wolf pilot, was happily exploring the ship’s controls. It was his first time on this ship, and he was imagining all the adventures he’d have once he took to the skies. As he walked around, feeling the smooth metal walls and admiring the cockpit, he had no idea what was about to happen.
Suddenly, the door to the ship hissed open, and in rushed Twilight, Luna, and Glitch. Twilight, out of breath, slammed the button to shut the door behind them. “Get us out of here! GET US OUT OF HERE!” he shouted, completely unaware that the ship already had a pilot.
Levi froze, his eyes wide as he watched the trio barge in. “What the hell...?” he muttered under his breath, utterly confused. Before he could react, Glitch eagerly jumped into the pilot’s seat.
“I got this!” she chirped, her glitchy arm sparking as she fiddled with the controls.
Luna's face went pale. “No, no, no! You don’t know how to fly a spaceship!”
But it was too late. Glitch slammed her paws onto the controls, and the ship lurched forward with a violent jolt. Levi, still in shock, stumbled into the cockpit. “What are you doing in my ship?!”
The spaceship shook wildly as Glitch tried to steer, nearly crashing into the ground. Twilight clung to the walls, his claws scratching at the metal as the ship dipped and swerved uncontrollably. “We’re gonna die! We’re gonna die!” he shouted, his face pressed against the window as the ground zoomed closer.
Just when it seemed like the ship would crash, Levi leaped forward, shoving Glitch out of the way and taking control. “Move!” he barked, his paws flying over the controls with precision.
The fur police looked up at the crew. Twilight looked back at the police.
"Hello..." Twilight whimpered. He looked up at Levi, who was now in control. "Ohh shit..."
The ship jerked backward, pulling up sharply far from the ground. Twilight, who had been pressed against the window, was flung backward with a yelp and crashed into the wall behind him. “Oof!”
Levi glared back. "Take a seat. Before I decide to throw you elsewhere."
Twilight, groaned as he stood up and found his way to a seat and muttered, “Remind me never to let her near the control panel again…”
Outside the ship, the fur police stood in shock, watching the chaotic takeoff unfold. One officer barked into his radio, “We’ve got a runaway ship! Repeat, a runaway ship!”
Inside, Twilight peeled himself off the floor, his fur ruffled. “Can this day please get better?”
Luna chuckled, her heterochromic eyes glinting. “Doubt it.”
