Zain’s mom walked straight up to Theo’s window, like catching her son making out in the front seat of a car was just a normal Tuesday night.
Theo rolled the window down, still grinning like he found the whole thing hilarious. “Uh, hey, Mrs. Malik.”
“Hi, Theo,” she said casually, crossing her arms and leaning on the edge of the window. “Did you two have fun tonight?”
Zain, who was dying in the passenger seat, groaned again. “Mom.”
“What?” She glanced at him with a straight face, but he could see the little smirk she was holding back. “I’m just asking.”
Theo snorted, clearly enjoying every second of this. “Yeah, we just grabbed ice cream.”
“I can see that.” She raised an eyebrow, glancing between the two of them. “And I assume all the ice cream stayed in the cups?”
Zain sank further into his seat, dragging his hood up over his head. “Mom, please.”
She laughed softly, finally pushing off the window. “Relax, Zain. Just… maybe park in the driveway next time.”
Theo saluted her, and she laughed again before heading back toward the house.
When she was gone, Theo looked over at Zain, his grin still firmly in place. “She likes me.”
“She caught us kissing, Theo.”
Theo shrugged. “Yeah, but she still likes me.”
Zain just shook his head, but despite the embarrassment, he couldn’t help smiling a little. “You’re the worst.”
Theo leaned over, brushing their noses together. “Nah. You love it.”
Zain rolled his eyes, but he didn’t pull away.
