I snorted and gave him a scathing glare. “What do you want?” I snapped irritably.
Harvey let out an exasperated sigh, running a hand through his thin hair. “Listen, I know you teenagers are supposed to be rebellious an’ all, but cut me some slack kid!”
What the hell is a ‘teenager?’
I continued to glare, showing no sign of emotion.
Is he trying to mess with my head by throwing random words at me? Is he hoping to get some kind of information out of me? If that’s the case, I need to be very careful.

I looked around, looking at golden rays that shone in from the windows. Sunlight. I swung my legs over the seat. And promptly fell onto the wooden floor.
I growled in frustration, only an managing to squirm and writhe a few inches.
“Here.” Harvey bent down, throwing one of my arms around his frail shoulders and hoisting me up. I stared numbly ahead. My eyes trained on the doors and still not seeing entirely.
”When will I be able to walk on my own again?” I grumbled.
“Couple of days.”
Something pricked in the back of my mind as I thought about the warmth of the sun. I’m a Demon! Sunlight can’t touch me!
MY body twitched as Harvey neared the door. “Wait! I-I don’t want to go outside!”
”That’s silly! A second ago you were practically dying to get outside! You need the sun, Solstice. It’ll do wonders for ya.”
”No! Let go of me!”
Harvey ignored me as he stepped outside and the sun’s golden rays spilled over my body.
