Karaxos was my next opponent.
She had deep violet skin and black eyes. Her beaked mouth was long and sharp, her claws were a deep orange-gold that practically covered her fingers.
Her arms unnerved me the most. She had six spindly arms ready to rip, bruise, and punch with. She loomed over me, her body like a stick; straight, stiff, and deadly.
As the final bell tolled for the match to begin, I took a deep breath, blocking out all the noise. A moment later, I could only hear Karaxos and my own heartbeat.
Karaxos gave a shrill screech and darted after me, moving just like a centipede. I stared, mesmerized as she moved. Only when she was about to strike was I able to move. I somersaulted out of the way as she pounced where I had been seconds ago. I gasped for breath.
Mesmers. Able to entrance their prey, they always had a trump card.
Good thing I have my own trump card!
I started shrieking and screaming. Karaxos froze in bewilderment, as white scaled wings emerged from my back. The tops of my wings were a pair of claws twice the size of my hand, and resembled a dark, curved horn. They glittered white and silver, the most beautiful wings I'd ever seen.
She moved again, trying to take me off guard.
Not this time.
As she rose up to meet me, hands reaching for my neck, one of my wings grabbed her by the throat and threw her to the ground. My other wing punched her in the stomach. Hard. She was completely unconscious.
I stood over her motionless form, waiting for my results.
"Solstice of Demon's Core, you are hereby banished for entering and withholding your mixed blood origins."
