"Ok, we need to talk," I said to Ronnie as I followed her into our suite and shirt the door behind me. "What's going on with you?"
"What do you mean?" Ronnie asked as she headed straight into our bedroom and kicked off her shoes. "There's nothing going on..."
"Bullshit," I replied as I threw my jacket across the room. "You freaked out this morning after Cassie left and you've barely said two words to me since. Now, I'm gonna ask you again. What the fuck did I do?"
"I don't want to talk about it," Ronnie replied as she headed out of the room into the living room. "Trust me, you didn't do anything."
"No, of course, I didn't do anything. That's why you're avoiding me like the freaking plague, right," I said as I followed Ronnie. "What about Cassie? What did she do?"
"I said I don't want to talk about it," Ronnie said as she sat down on the couch, reaching for the TV remote, curling her feet up in under off her ass. "Don't you have a party that you need to get ready for?"
"It doesn't start for another few hours," I replied as I cautiously sat down next to Ronnie. "Can you at least tell me why you aren't coming with me? You don't have to join Alpha Pi..."
Fuck Alpha Pi Delta and fuck the party," Ronnie said as she stared at me, obviously, fighting to hold back tears. "Why can't you just accept the fact that I don't want to go to some stupid fucking..."
"YOU KNOW WHAT? FINE!" I yelled at Ronnie as I jumped up off the couch again. "DON'T GO TO THE PARTY! SIT HERE ALL NIGHT AND BE FUCKING ANTISOCIAL! SEE IF I FUCKING CARE!"
I stormed into my room and got undressed so fast that I practically ripped my clothes off before I headed out into the washroom and turned on the shower. I wanted to go back out into the living room and yell at Ronnie again but I decided to let sleeping dogs lie. Instead, I jumped into the shower and ripped the curtain across the rod so fast that I almost ripped it down.
"Fucking bitch," I mumbled to myself, squirting some shampoo in my hand, then slamming the bottle form on the shelf again. "How fucking dare she be like that with me?"
As I washed my hair, my eyes filled up with tears and it wasn't from the shampoo either. I was legitimately hurting. I hated arguing with Ronnie and deep down inside, as angry as I was at her, I was just as angry with myself for yelling at her. The more I thought about it, the more guilty I felt.
I convinced myself that, if nothing else, I had to go apologies to Ronnie for yelling at her. Turning off the water, I stepped out of the shower and quickly dried myself off. After wrapping a towel around my head and one around my naked body, I headed back out into the living room and, to my surprise, Ronnie wasn't there.
"Where the fuck did she go?" I asked, staring at the TV which was now turned off. "She could've at least waited until I got out of the shower before she fucking left."
Ripping the towel off my head, I stormed into the bedroom. As I walked in through the door, I literally stopped dead in my tracks and stared across the room. Ronnie was laying in bed, facing the wall, with her blanket pulled completely up around her head. She wasn't snoring, but she wasn't moving a muscle either, so I didn't know if she was sleeping or not. Not wanting another knockdown drag-out fight with her, I decided to leave her be and just get dressed.
"Mmm, let's see," I said as I began digging through my dresser drawer. "Nope, no good. I wanna look hot for my first... Got it," I said as tiptoed over to the closet. "Perfect," I thought to myself.
I pulled out a party dress and pulled out on. It was black, hallway down over my thighs, with lace shoulders and sleeves and a square neckline. I decided to wear my knee-high black high heel boots as well. After looking into the mirror and feeling satisfied with how I looked, I turned around and stared at Ronnie again. She was snoring now, loudly, so I decided that giving her a goodbye kiss was out of the question. Trying to walk as quietly as I could across the hardwood floor in my high heel boots, I made my way out of the bedroom and left for the sports complex. Luckily, it was only about a ten-minute walk.
"Mira, you made it," Cassie greeted me, almost instantly, after I walked in. "I take it your roommate isn't coming."
"No, unfortunately not. She's not feeling well." I replied, choosing to lie to Cassie rather than bad-mouthing Ronnie. "I think she's coming down with the flue or something."
"It's ok. You don't have to make excuses for her, Mira," Cassie replied. "Come on, let's grab a drink and I'll introduce you to a few of my friends."
Cassie spent the next thirty minutes or so just talking and shipping on watermelon punch spiked with Vodka as we walked around the sports complex. As promised, she introduced me to three of her friends; Trina, Nadia, and Beverly. They seemed nice for the most part, especially Nadia who seemed to be very flirtatious.
"Mira, stay here and keep Nadia company while Bev and Trin and I go to the ladies' room," Cassie said as she chugged down what was left of her punch. "Nadia, take good care of this one, I mean it."
"So, you're a newbie, huh," Nadia said after Cassie and her friends quickly disappeared out of sight. "What brings you RTI?"
"My parents wanted me to come here," I replied, taking another sip of my punch. "They want me to join the track and field team so I figured while I'm here I may as well get an education too, you know."
"That makes sense. With those sexy long legs of yours, I bet you'll be a star in no time," Nadia replied, obviously, flirting with me again. "What are you majoring in?"
"Business," I answered. "It seemed like the quickest way to get rich when I get out of here, you know".
"Sexy and smart. Very impressive," Nadia replied as she grabbed my hand. "Come on, dance with me."
"Wait. What?" I said as I chugged my punch before being dragged towards the dancefloor. "Nadia, I... I can't dance."
"Sure you can," She replied. "I'll lead. Just wrap your arms around my neck and let me hold you close."
Nadia was about the same height as me with her high heel shoes on so when I stepped my arms around her neck we were pretty much at eye level with each other. I could feel my heart beating a little faster as she wrapped her arms around my waist and squeezed me a little.
"So, are you thinking about joining Alpha Pi Delta?" Nadia asked as she smiled at me. "I mean, that is why you came here tonight, wasn't it?"
"I... I don't know," I replied. Cassie invited me and my roommate to come earlier so I just..."
"You just accepted," Nadia replied with a soft chuckle. "Yeah, Cass has a way of making people just accept."
"What's that supposed to mean?" I asked Nadi, feeling our hips starting to sway back and forth a little now. "Is that what she got you to do, just accept?"
"I'm a Junior, Mira. She's a sophomore. I was here before her," Nadia replied, speaking into my ear. "You see, Cass was elected as the President of Alpha Pi Delta last semester. She's the youngest person to ever be President," Nadia explained. "Let's just say... She's got pretty big shoes to fill."
"What happened to the last President?" I asked, feeling Nadia's hands starting to slowly move up and down over my spine. "Did she graduate or something?"
"No, she's still here. In fact, you're dancing with her," Nadia replied, surprising me, planting a soft kiss on my face right next to my ear. "Cass is coming. Not a word about what we talked about."
"Of course," I replied, smiling at Nadia as she slowly took her arms away from my waist. "Thank you for the dance."
"She's welcome," Cassie said. "Aren't you, Nadia?"
"Yes, of course," Nadia replied. "Very welcome."
"Now, go with Bev and Trin and get some more punch," Cassie said. I wanna spend some quality time with my new friend."
After the girls left, Cassie asked me to dance. Her invitation seemed innocent enough. I mean, there was another slow song playing and everyone else was dancing. So, of course, I accepted.
"Are you having a good time?" She asked me, putting her hands on my hips and slowly moving them around my body onto my back.
"Not too bad, actually," I replied. "What about you?"
"I am now," She replied as she put her head right next to mine and spoke directly into my ear. "You look and smell absolutely incredible tonight, Mira," She said, breathing deep into my ear. "You have such a beautiful body."
"Um... Thank you, but..." I said, feeling my heart as it began to flutter. "I really should be getting back to my suite to check on my roommate. She really wasn't feeling well when I left and..."
"Mira, I'm sure she's fine," Cassie said. "Didn't you come here to have a good time?"
"I did," I replied as Cassie pulled her head away from Mike and stared straight into my eyes. "And I am, but I..."
Before I could even finish talking, Cassie leaned her head forwards and began kissing me. I'm not sure if it was the total surprise felt or the spiked punch, but initially, I began kissing her back. It wasn't a terrible kiss but the longer it lasted, the more I thought about Ronnie.
"I can't do this," I said as I abruptly broke the kiss and pulled away from Cassie. "Thank you so much for the invitation but I really have to go."
"Mira, come on," Cassie called out to me as I left. "It's not even midnight yet."
"Leaving so soon?" Nadia asked me as I reached the end of the dancefloor. "Are you ok?"
"Yeah, I'm fine," I replied to Nadia. "I just... I really have to go. It was nice meeting you, girls."
After I left the sports complex, I headed across campus and back to the suite as quickly as I could. When I walked in, Ronnie was sitting on the couch eating a bowl of popcorn.
"Wow," She said as soon as she saw me. "It looks like someone was dressed to impress tonight."
"It was a party, Ronnie," I said as I sat down on the couch beside her and pulled off my black boots. "I just wanted to look nice, that's all."
"She fell good too, apparently," Ronnie said, showing sarcastically, as she screwed up her face. "How much did you have to drink tonight?"
"Too much to be arguing with you again," I replied as I reached into Ronnie's bowl for some popcorn. "What movie are you watching?"
"Get your own popcorn," Ronnie blurted out. "The Lord Of The Rings trilogy is on."
"I'm sorry for yelling at you earlier," I said, shoving the popcorn into my mouth. "I really wish you had come with me tonight."
"I thought you said you didn't want to argue with me again," Ronnie replied. "I told you, I'm not joining..."
"I'm not arguing with you," I assured her. I just... I missed you, that's all. I couldn't stop thinking about you the entire time I was there."
"Really?" Ronnie asked. "When, between each drink?"
"Come on, cut me some slack?" I said, sighing heavily, reaching for some more popcorn. "I'm here with you now aren't I? And it's not even eleven o'clock."
"Obviously, you're here," Ronnie replied as she put the bowl of popcorn down on the coffee table stared at me. If you thought about me that much, you would've offered to share your alcohol with me."
"What are you talking about?" I asked her. "What alcohol?"
"This alcohol," Ronnie agreed in a soft voice as she leaned over and began kissing my lips. Turning her body sideways, she placed her hand between my knees she began to move it up between my legs. "I was thinking about you all night too, you know."
"Really?" I asked, giggling and taking a quick deep breath, opening my legs a little, feeling Ronnie's hand sliding in under my dress. "Are you trying to take advantage of me because I'm drunk?"
"Maybe," Ronnie replied, breathing straight into my mouth. "Is that necessarily a bad thing?"
"Not at all," I replied, kissing her back, aggressively, holding it for about ten seconds before I pulled away. "How about you take this drunk girl into the bedroom and help her get undressed?"
"I thought you'd never ask," Ronnie replied as she turned off the TV and got up off the couch, taking my hand in hers, pulling me to my feet. "If you pass out on me, I swear, I'm shaving your eyebrows."
