Ophelia was in a starfish position, freefalling from the sky of another world. The air got through her hair and she tightly gripped with both of her hands her bag on her right shoulder. Sinon then jumps in the opening and the portal closed behind him. Ophelia felt someone carrying her. She looked up to see Sinon, his majestic wings reassemble as of an angel and his glowing azure bleu halo were both visible. Ophelia sigh in relief, she thought she was going to die.
"Why the fuck did you push me, I don't have wings like you!" screamed Ophelia, scarred to death.
"Because I knew you would fall for me." flirted Sinon with Ophelia.
"Haha, really funny my prince," said Ophelia as she looked to her left, blushing.
"Aww, are you blushing princess?" he giggles.
"No, I'm not!" pouted Ophelia, crossing her arms.
Sinon chuckled whiles they arrived at his house. He lived in a giant complex, the entrance was made of clear crystal with the same security systems as Ophelia's world, a badge to unlocked doors. The lobby was spacious, the ceiling was high with a chandelier hanging from it. Ophelia followed Sinon into a see-through elevator, which was very trippy for her because they were headed to the 17 floors. The view from there was breathtaking, she viewed the ocean of clouds right at the end of the island. The sky was the same black filled with sparkle like her world, but there was no moon, only the stars brighten up the sky.
They finally arrived on 17 floors. Sinon walked to the end of the white hallways as he reaches his keys from his pocket, where he stores everything. The apartment had a strangely familiar smell, she knew it was new but her gut feeling told her she knows this smell. Sinon removed his jacket and hung it in a closet, which was near the front door. Ophelia looked around the apartment, it was very dusty like his hair and messy. It looked like he rarely comes here. As she observes her new surroundings, she notices some pictures on a bookshelf, a portrait of an angel with a smiling Sinon. As she looked closely, curious to whom had the honour of being framed in Sinon shelf, the woman with an Emeraude halo was herself, angel version.
"Sinon? Why am I in this picture as an angel?" she asked as Sinon removed his shoes.
"That? She is you, but as an angel, she was my fiance before you were sentenced for a murder and sent to earth. I'll explain more later, just ignore that for now and change your bloody clothes" bluntly said, Sinon.
Ophelia's eyes widen as she blinked to be sure she heard right. Did she kill someone as an angel?
"You're not joking, right?"
"Nah, but just change your shirt first, then I will tell you about our love story," said Sinon as he goes into a room. Ophelia was astonished but she quickly followed Sinon into his bedroom. The air was full of dust like the living room, with indigo walls and a grayish carpet, so fluffy. The bed was in the center of the room, on the right wall from the door. In front of the footboard, a drawer was stuck to the wall. on the drawer, there were a lot of objects. To be specific, photos of Ophelia and her angel's friend, some framed and other polaroid picture on the wall. There was a camera photo with random toys and souvenirs from Sinon's and Ophelia's trip to earth. A dead orange rose in the middle of all this disaster with two rings in front of it. On the left, right next to the drawer, there was a closet also full of pictures. The bed was messy with two pillows.
Sinon gave Ophelia the liberty to search all of Ophelia's old clothes for cleans one. He sits on the edge of the bed and Ophelia observes all of Ophelia's past-self object on the drawer.
"Why are there two rings here?" questioned Ophelia, picking up the two rings.
"They used to be my engagement rings... Don't just pick up my stuff!" baffled Sinon, taking from her hands the two rings and putting them back at their place.
Ophelia lifted a shirt that caught her eyes, it was a simple oversized hoodie. It was in a peach-orange with the words prince in the front and had some white wings in the back.
"I like this one!" she exclaimed to Sinon, holding the shirt above her to show it to Sinon.
"Heh, that's a shirt you used to steal from me." he snickered.
"Well, now its mine!" said Ophelia as she began to strip her shirt in front of Sinon.
"Wow! what do you think you're doing?!" asked Sinon as he looks away to the left, his face red as a tomato.
"I'm just wearing a bra, it is just like a swimsuit. Look, it fits me!" eagerly said Ophelia while Sinon looked over her direction.
"Yeah right, you're too small for my hoodie." grinned Sinon.
"No, I'm not, you're just so big." sulked Ophelia.
"Okay princess, now I'm going to tell you what you came here to hear. Here sit next to me" said Sinon patting the space next to him. Ophelia then decided to jump on the dusty bed. Wrong choice! Block of dust flew in the atmosphere of the room, Ophelia smiled as she sat next to Sinon. Sinon seemed annoyed but Ophelia just smiled back at him.
"Once upon a time, in the world we are in, God needed new angels, his helpers. So he created some angels every 25 years, they did not go through the early stages of life, only adulthood and lived around 500 years." narrated Sinon as Ophelia poking Sinon in the shoulder. Sinon looked over and she was like a child listening to a story, which she was.
"So how old are you?" asked Ophelia, starring Sinon very intensively.
"I'm 126 years old" answered Sinon, annoyed to be interrupted in his storytelling.
"Wah! You're so old" said Ophelia.
" Hey! You would be 101 years old if you were still an angel. Anyway, you and Dreida were created, exactly 101 years ago. You had an Emeraude halo, made for the sole purpose to create tools for society. Emeraude was a rare kind and you were the only one created from the grou-"
"Wow!! That so cool, what kind of weapon I used to make?" Ophelia cuts off Sinon for a second time.
"Sigh, you made a lot of different tools, but you researched especially on tools able to trape bad souls into a prison made for them"answered Sinon to please her.
"Really?! Who uses it?" asked Ophelia.
"I'm getting there. So, Dreida had an Amethyst halo, the most common one. They watched over a multitude of good souls to see if they misbehave. From what you had told me, you became best friends with her since you lived next to each other. You met me through Dreida since I have a Saphire halo, I watch over presumed bad souls from the report of the amethysts. I watch one person at a time since the bad soul is a lot of writing down on a paper of their life. Eventually, we began to date and Dreida dated Alumm, the guy you knew since he was a Ruby, also called guardians. They assure the travels of souls to their next life and occasionally sends the bad souls to another realm with a knife you created. They had a child named Lenny." explained Sinon before Ophelia interrupt him for the third time.
"What! She had a kid!? Didn't you say angels were created by God?" asked Ophelia, scratching her head and frowning her face.
"You can send an appeal to him and ask to have a child. The kiddo will live like a human with wings and when he is old enough, a halo will be assigned to him, but Lenny never got the chance to receive his halo..."
"why?"
"I'm getting there. Well one time or should I say the last time Lenny was staying here because Dreida was working, you...killed him. I don't know the details but when I came home, you were covered in Lenny's blood, the weapon you created was in your hand also covered with Lenny's blood. Dreida's body was right in front of the entrance with shattered amethyst on the apartment floor. You were shaking so much that you almost broke your Halo. When a Halo is broken, your soul escapes to the human realm, that's what happened to Dreida. So basically, her soul went to earth, rebirth as a baby there. You were judged privately by the comity and they decided to send you to earth as a bad soul. If you misbehave, well you were going to be recorded as a bad soul and trapped in a prison." finished Sinon as he continues to talk. " About our situation right now, I think Alumm gave back Dreida's memories."
"If I understand correctly, I murdered Dreida kids," asked Ophelia, hand gesturing.
"Essentially, yeah. I suspect she remembers her past life since she backed away when I placed the barrier." approved Sinon.
"Wait. So, if Alumm, it's her boyfriend, by the way, gave back her memories. Can you give me my memories?" said Ophelia. She looked at Sinon squitting her eyes.
"Well... About your memories, I don't have enough magical powers to give them back." sadly said, Sinon.
"How so??" confused, "You don't have unlimited powers?"
"We don't, I used too much to take back your soul 12 years ago. I had to recharge and I just gave you your sight back, don't have much left in my halo," said Sinon.
"You brought me back to life! Wait... I was dead. You're just like a god!!" said Ophelia, eyes full of excitement as her face got closer to Sinon.
"Haha, really funny," said Sinon in a sarcastic tone.
Ophelia and Sinon continued to talk to each other, learning new things as Ophelia asked millions of question but eventually, she felt sleepy. Going back to Ophelia's residence was out of the question, they decided that the best action was to stay in Sinon apartment. Ophelia wore her old pyjama, right on top of the piles of clothes from her drawer. She slept to the whole night in the bedroom while Sinon sleeps on the couch, sleeping with a simple blanket.
