Whilst the three men looked to be intently focused on talking over each other in the intense discussion they were having. I peeked up evaluating all of the men. My eyes instantly focus in on the man with the halcyon eyes. My body and mind was drawn to him.
Snapping out of my trance like state in a hurry, I looked at the other two men. The man in the lab coat was called Stephen, from the little I understood them, I knew for certain that was his name. Since his attention was constantly seeked after by the other two guys as he was typing away speedily on the phone. He had brown hair and a lanky tall frame. He had black rimmed glasses that rested on his nose, his features almost reminded me of Enigma from Gotham.
The other man, waving the brown envelope around was a striking comparison to the other two. He had charcoal black hair, pale skin and striking black eyes. He looked the most menacing. He had tattoos trailing down from his jaws into his shirt on the left side of his neck.
My eyes trailed back to the man with the green eyes. Our eyes met. In a warm electrified paralysis, I was trapped and couldn’t look away. Almost like some sort of glue was holding me from staring away.
“Are you done?” He snarled at me, his graceful features turned harsh and uncaring.
Surprised I started chocking on a piece of chicken I had forgotten was in my mouth. Coughing violently I couldn’t breathe. Before I knew it, I was embraced from the back by a warm figure. Both his arms had snaked around my large gut. Before I can protest he began jerking my body back in an effort to get rid of the food stuck in my throat.
As the chicken flew out of my mouth, I breathed out and my body was hunched over with my hands supporting my weight. I was grateful that it was over, but mostly terrified that I had caused such a scene. I was surely going to be punished from this.
I quickly straightened my back and stood as still as possible. Waiting for them to announce what punishment I was too face for irritating them and inconveniencing them.
”are you alright?” A low pitched voice asked behind me. I felt a shiver of fear run down me. Gulping I nod my head once. Daring to look over I was shocked to see the person who had helped me was the man with the trails of tattoos. The one I had judged earlier as being the most menacing looking.
”I’m glad” he started then his eyes began shifting downward towards my stomach. Unconsciously I rest my hands on my stomach protectively.
“So...um..” he scratched the back of his head whilst looking towards the other men, who I havnt dared to look at “ your pregnant?” From my toes to the individual hair follicles on my body, fear took over. Once again I felt paralysed. But not in warmth. It felt like my heart dropped to the ground. My heart rate picked up and my breathing became difficult.
I tried not to cry and bit the sides of my cheek to stop myself from welling up. Not ables to do anything I just nodded.
Mall three of the men took a sharp intake of breath, surprised by the development.
I hung my head low, praying to god they won’t kill me. As I was already taken by another man. So there was no chance I could be looking for my soulmate. My initial plan had been faulted from the beginning. I had intentionally entered this land, in hopes I can fool the guards that i was looking for my soulmate who I had seen for a split second a couple of weeks ago. The idea was I would say we had gotten separated so now I’m here to look for him.
Cursing at my badly thought out plan, I wanted to shrink away and cry. My hopelessness never ended. I can’t even protect myself. How am I going to protect my baby.
Before anyone can say anything , one of the men stormed out whilst slamming the door shut. The sound made me jump in shock.
Not knowing what to do I kept my head down and didn’t say anything. The other two men left shortly after, telling me to continue eating or to sit down and rest a bit whilst they sort out accommodation and clothes for me.
I just nodded once again, my voice felt as if it had left my body.
