“Why does she smell like that? How can she have been with another man? She is not my soulmate! I don’t want her” I paced around in my office, shouting out my thoughts to my beta and delta. Finalising my feelings for the umpteenth time.
“She’s pregnant for crying out loud! Did you see her?! She’s fat- no scrap that. Obese. And no that’s definitely not because she’s pregnant” I sat down dejected in my chair, wanting it all to end.
Not giving the two men anytime to respond I carry on.
”How can I as an alpha have that as my soulmate? As my partner or my luna!? I refuse!” I say crossing my arms and huffing like a child. Adamant I won’t change my mind.
My beta and delta exchanged knowing looks like they knew better.
Clearing his throat my beta was about to say something but stoped himself nervously. Seeing this my delta jumped up from his seat.
“That’s ridiculous Alpha! You cannot reject your mate like that. You will go mad. No one has to know of her existence. Outside of us three, however you have to accept her as your mate.” He said rationally. My delta’s black piercing eyes patronisingly stared straight into mine. He was almost challenging me to say I refuse my mate again.
”How can we hide her? She smells outrageous!”
“Alpha” my beta began “ the doctor says, she was taken advantage of. That smell is the bodies natural reaction to emulate a smell from it pours to protect itself. And make her less desirable to the attacker. It should be gone in a few weeks time”
Grabbing a pen I dash it at the far side of the wall angrily. This is mad! I’m Alpha for crying out. I glared back at my Beta and Delta who seemingly had lost all interest in my problems and were immersed in a different conversation all together.
“She is absolutely adorable, awww look at her cute feet” my delta cooed whilst looking at the Beta’s phone. Scrolling through no doubt, photos of the Betas second born daughter.
Defeated I roll my eyes and bury my head in my shoulder. Not knowing what to do. Shutting my eyes I just focus on my breathing.
“Marvin is here” before I can react to my Betas words, there’s a knock on the door.
“Alpha you must maintain a friendly relationship with her for our pack. We cannot go through another war. Do not let on you have found a mate.”
Sighing I nodded simply whilst my two best men leave the room, but not before exchanging greetings and formalities with Marvin and escorting her in to my office.

“Hello Marvin, what brings you here?” I ask with my head hung low, reading the paperwork before me.
“Hello, to you too Tristan” I can hear the sarcasm without needing to look up.” When did we get so formal?” She said walking around my desk. She lifts my head up with her slender hands.
I gasped when I look at her face. She looked old and shrivelled. Ugly and uncanny. Not the beauty she once was. It was like there was a spirit in her that gave her skin a white deathly glow.
Panicking. How can I see that? Better yet, why is Marvin so old. It doesn’t make sense. She is less than 100 years old. Like me, we went to school together. We are in the same age group.
“If your not here for something important, then I would like to carry on my work” I say strained. How is it possible I’m able to see her halo and how can I see that spirit? my mind completely unravels. What is going on?
before I can say anything else, I feel Marvin hands snaking down to my trouser zips.
i must stop this for now.
“Marvin” I begin and grab her hands gently grasping them. My heart was beating so erratically. I place her hands on my heart,
“This is how I feel about you” I say as earnestly as possible. “However I know you are not exclusive and your not looking to be” I then push away her hands and swivel out of my chair to the opposite wall to appear as though I’m retrieving a file.
“I don’t wish to carry on with you, I want something solid and real” I say looking at her in dismay. “I’m alpha of this pack, I can’t be with a woman that’s constantly laying with every man in the territory”
my heart begins to beat a lot faster, not knowing if she will take the bait. I sit back down on my office chair and open up the file.
“You noticed?” She asks shocked.
“Of course!” I exclaim “ I know everything! And how you’ve been with that ratty alpha Jace”
for a moment I cannot breathe, this could go either way. It could end very badly.

Her family are strong allies with Alpha Jace. Amor pack. My packs rival in pretty much everything. Power, strength and leadership. I’ve really need Marvin to be on our side.
”I only did it so you would notice!” I didn’t look up, pretending to be engrossed in what I’m reading. She swivels the chair so that I’m facing her and she straddles me. With her legs on either side of me.
“I promise I’ll be exclusive to you ” she says quietly. I stare up into her eyes. Thinking back to my soulmate. Why I’m I so unlucky with women? I’ve slept with this old hag.
Marvins face keeps changing from a youthful face to an old woman’s face. Not able to hold her stare for long out of fear of her knowing I can SEE her. I bury my head in her neck. Leaving small kiss trails down her neck.
I shut my eyes, I want to get rid of being able to see that halo. I desperately leave kisses everywhere on her neck, hoping that ability will stop. When I open up my eyes I can no longer see that halo. Sighing I look in her eyes.
“I love you, Marvin, don’t forget that when your losing your skirt elsewhere.” After I say that she encompasses my lips.
