The sound of my alarm woke me up. I looked at the clock. It was 7:00am. I got dressed in a blue sweater and dark blue jeans. After that, I went downstairs to breakfast and made some toast. I finished it quickly and then I walked to school. I met up with my two best friends Nadine and Krista. I first met Krista in first grade. I was the shy introverted child. One day she came up to me asking if I would help her save the catapillars from the boys at recess. Especially from Nick Mossman. He was always trying to be the cool kid in school. After that Krista and I spent everyday at school together. The next year we met Nadine. Krista asked Nadine politely to move so she could give the catilpillar we found earlier that day some water. I was slowly tagging behind her. Kirsta gave me the catilpillar to hold.
"You wanna hold him?" I asked Nadine shyly. "But don't squash him" Krista also replied.
Nadine took him in her tiny hands and greeted him. Krista told her she could be his other mom with us. Nadine seemed shocked we asked that and agreed. But.... She accidentally suffocated him in her pencil box 2 hours later. We had a small funeral for him.
After that Nadine, Krista and I were always hanging out. We told each other things we never thought we'd say out loud. We'd spend almost every weekend at each other's houses having sleepovers.
It turned out Nadine and Kristas life wasn't perfect either. When we'd play with toys and have tea partys we could hear kristas parents fighting. But we got each other through it. For the next few years everything was magic.
